Would you go on vacation to a country where you can't walk down the street from garbage, asked Radinka Ćinćur, candidate of the coalition "Let's go people! - Democratic, European, united for Bar!" for councilor in the Bar Municipality Assembly in the elections on October 23.
"We live in the belief that we should develop tourism, that each of us individually contributes to it, that we should do everything so that guests from all over the world come to us. And we hope that it is possible, but our happiness is short-lived when we realize that guests must that they pass the streets where garbage is dumped every day, without containers, in plastic bags, which are dragged by cats and dogs. We are ashamed. How can we explain to our guests that this is the case here, that we have no other solution," Ćinćur pointed out.
She also states how it is possible to solve the problem.
"The way it was solved by all developed countries that care about their image and the health of their population: Place underground containers wherever possible - in the city center in front of the Gymnasium, in Šušanj near the railway station, near the water pump (at the turn for Green Belt), in the parking lot; distribute bins for waste disposal to every house where it is not possible to install underground containers and take away garbage regularly," stated Ćinćur.
In addition to this, adds Ćinćur, when we exercise power in Bar, we will install composters that will convert organic waste into natural fertilizer, which the competent utility company will use for its own needs. We will create a plan for selective waste disposal and claim funds from the European Union funds, which are ready for good projects.
"And one more thing - when you trust us to manage your and our Bar for the next four years, we promise that this problem will be at the top of our priorities. We will make sure that the people who take care of the cleanliness of our city are paid better for their work, such as this is the case in all the developed countries of the world. That way we will be sure that communal jobs will not be the least paid and least attractive," Ćinćur concluded.
