Our coalition has a program that represents the starting point for a better tourist offer of the city and the preservation of cultural and historical heritage. If we want to work for the future of Bar, we must not forget and ignore the past of our city," said Branko Knežević, a councilor candidate from the list "For the future of Bar – Maja Vukićević" in the elections on October 23.
"Bar as a city abounds in cultural and historical monuments that represent a huge potential for the development of the Municipality and the tourist offer, and the current local government has done nothing or very little in this regard," Knežević added in the announcement of the New Serbian Democracy Bar.
He stated that the program of the list for the local elections on October 23, led by Maja Vukićević in Bar, foresees, among other things, the communal access to the Bogordica Ratačka monastery, as well as the creation of interactive maps next to each monument - also in Braille.
"It is necessary to map the most significant cultural and historical monuments with a short video presentation, in cooperation with the Secretariat for Finance and the tourist organization to organize a tourist tour 'Bar on two shores' that would allow getting to know both the sea and lake shores and allocate certain funds from the capital budget which would be a source of income for the revitalization of existing cultural monuments," Knežević said.
According to Knežević, the program of the list "For the future of Bar" foresees the restoration of the birthplace of Jovan Tomašević in the village of Gornji Brčeli in Crmnica.
"We will propose, after the victory in the local elections that are ahead of us, that the educational institutions of the city traditionally organize a history lesson dedicated to the most important people and places on the territory of the Municipality. This is only part of the steps we plan to take in this regard, in order to repay ancestors and entrusted their descendants" – concluded Knežević.
