A large number of suburban settlements in the Municipality of Bar still have not resolved the issue of basic water supply, announced the candidate of the coalition "Let's go, people! Democratic, European, united for Bar!" for councilor in the Bar Municipality Assembly, Josip Đurašković.
He asked whether it is known that the people who live under the Šušanj 2 reservoir do not have water and whether it is necessary that in the 21st century they clarify the importance of an orderly water supply for the normal life of the citizens of Bar, "while it is about the improvement of the tourism industry in conditions of lack of drinking water lead more than speaking hypocritically".
Đurašković also said that for years they have been hearing from the city authorities about priority investments, development projects and plans for the Municipality of Bar, which are mostly financed by the money of the citizens of Bar.
"More than 10 years ago, the southern branch of the regional water supply system (RVS) was built and put into operation, the route of which runs through the entire municipality of Bar, from Kufin (the border with the municipality of Budva) to the town of Kunje (the border with the municipality of Ulcinj). on the RVS route in the municipality of Bar, five distribution branches were built, of which only one (Šušanj) was in operation for almost 10 years. In addition, hundreds of buildings and households in the settlements of Šušanj, Peranovići, Mrčele and Vitići, which are located in the immediate vicinity the Šušanj 2 reservoir and the RVS branch still have no water supply infrastructure, nor any solution for proper water supply, although the connection of these facilities to the water supply network was possible with relatively simple and quick technical solutions, which do not require huge investments. in the statement.
According to him, "in the absence of an efficient city government in Bar", citizens, local communities and business entities that focused their business activities on tourism, "for years, on their own initiative, sent requests for direct connection and taking over of water from the RVS from the area of the Municipality of Bar, which gravitates the southern branch of the RVS", and that it was successful in certain settlements, "mostly thanks to political agreements and/or the political affiliation of individuals".
"In our coalition, we believe that a local administration that does not listen to the citizens and does not resolve efficiently and in a short time the most priority requests of those who elected them, does not deserve the citizens' trust again. A responsible local administration must not be guided exclusively by political decisions, but must subordinate politics to basic the needs of the residents of our municipality, as well as the numerous tourists who visit Bar in increasing numbers every year. It is time to, above all else, offer citizens sustainable solutions for the issue of water supply, because in the 21st century, one of the largest municipalities of the Montenegrin littoral, which At least she certainly is, she must not be thirsty anymore," concludes Đurašković.
