The problems with water supply, which many residents of Bar have, could have been solved if there had been the political will of the local government led by the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS), but local officials from that party clearly do not have citizens as their priority, according to Vukan Golubović, the holder of the Right of Montenegro list in Bar "Vukan Golubović - True Montenegro - We keep our word - Marko Milačić".
Golubović said that the residents of the Dobra voda and Utjeha settlements have had major problems with water supply for decades, and that these are settlements along the sea coast, which are developing rapidly due to the increasing influx of tourists during the summer tourist season.
According to him, the residents of Ostros and other places in the Krajina along the shores of Lake Skadar have also had major problems for many years, due to the lack of water for subsistence needs, but also for the development of agriculture and tourism, and that these problems are especially pronounced in the summer months. .
"For 30 years, the authorities in Bar have been promising to solve the problem of water supply to the residents of Ostros and other places in the Krajina region, but they are not working on the realization of the given promise, so they are still without water in the 21st century, which is unacceptable. Many residents are leaving those places, because they do not have the basic conditions for life there, which is a great pity, especially considering that there is a great potential for the development of those places, which are increasingly visited by tourists. Locals are fed up with empty promises and therefore will no longer trust those who do not given words," his statement said.
He adds that other problems in the water supply of the municipality of Bar are "the obsolescence of the distribution network, inappropriate development of that network, lack of reservoir space, technical and administrative losses in the system, as well as partial obsolescence of equipment."
Golubović believes that the aforementioned problems with water supply can be solved by investing the necessary funds in the preparation and implementation of appropriate projects for the reconstruction of the existing water supply network and expansion.
The funds, he says, can be provided from the municipal and state budgets, so it is only necessary to have the political will to solve the problems.
"By neglecting the needs of the citizens of Bar, the local government has shown that its citizens are not its priority, and that is why it will be replaced on October 23. Real Montenegro, as part of the future government in Bar, will advocate for the preparation and implementation of projects that solve problems with water supply ", his announcement concludes.
