The Bosniak Party - Right for Bar councilor list, as part of the future local government, will strongly and persistently advocate for the full affirmation of minority rights at the local government level, said Sehera Kurtagić-Kalender, a candidate for the Bosniac Party - Right for Bar list.
"We will demand strict compliance with the provisions on proportional representation, which are guaranteed by the Constitution of Montenegro. Proportional representation of members of the Bosniak-Muslim nation and other minority nations in local government and in public enterprises and institutions owned or founded by the local government is a constitutional and legal obligation. All available and public data on employees in local administration show a very small representation of members of the Bosniak-Muslim nation in local administration and public enterprises and institutions owned or founded by the Municipality of Bar," says Kurtagić-Kalender.
In this sense, Kurtagić-Kalender points out, the Bosniak Party will persistently advocate for the application of affirmative action in Bar, which must be present not only in the law, but also in all segments of social reality.
"We will insist that this representation be at all decision-making levels so that, as a people, we can effectively participate in the process of making important political decisions that govern all areas of work and functioning of local administration, economic investments and investments in all parts of the municipality of Bar", concludes Kurtagić-Kalender.
