Work is important. Roads and water, too. We think that, in addition, it is very important to provide our children and young people with quality education, as well as equal conditions for playing sports, said Irina Dabović, a candidate for councilor from the "Radomir Novaković Cakan - Biram Bar" list, in the elections on October 23.
"That's why we proposed an increase in the amount of scholarships for the best students, as well as an increase in the amount of the prize for the best students of primary and secondary schools - torchbearers, because only the best can lead the Bar forward tomorrow," she says.
As "Biram Montenegro - Biram Bar" states in the announcement, Biram Bar also proposed a different financing of sports for children and the introduction of the budget item "Fund for free sports activities for children" in the amount of 50.000 euros.
"The funds of this fund are intended to subsidize the membership fee, so that playing sports and cultivating healthy lifestyles are available to all children from the 1st to the 5th grade of elementary schools in Bar. Children from families who are beneficiaries of Material Security, then Roma and Egyptian populations, children from multi-member families, families in which only one member is employed, children of single parents... will be able to use this fund. The funds would be paid to sports clubs, based on monthly lists certified by the signatures of the parents of the children who use their services," the announcement reads. .
Dabović says that it is also proposed to introduce a new budget item from the field of culture with certain funds of 20.000 euros, which would be intended for the co-financing of projects in the field of cultural activities, and 15.000 euros for the development of the Program for the Development of the Culture of Bar.
"We are advocating for the establishment of an annual city award for Bar's most prominent cultural workers and cultural creators. Because, until now, our cultural creators were more likely to receive awards and recognitions abroad than in their own city. This practice should be stopped," emphasized Dabović.
She states that thanks to the renovated cinema hall of the Bar's House of Culture, in the first six months of this year alone, 23.000 fellow citizens visited, and instead of traveling to Budva or Podgorica, they were able to watch the latest films in their city.
"Biram Bar will not stop there, but will continue devotedly with the expansion and development of the Bar's cultural offer," concluded Dabović.
