As Orthodox Christians in Rožaje, we are a minority, with very little or no opportunity to influence decision-makers and representatives of the local government so that all the projects we plan and implement are in the interest of the Orthodox population, Nemanja Bulatović, president of the Municipal Committee of the Socialist People's Party, announced today. party (SNP) Rožaje and a candidate for councilor on the list of the Coalition for the Future of Rožaje (SNP-NSD).

"That's why we should be part of the authorities in Rožaj, so that they represent the interests of our Orthodox people in the right way. It is very important that we listen to and respect each other, that all citizens of Rožaj have the same opportunity to express themselves in their full capacity and potential because only in that way, it can go on the right path," Bulatović pointed out in the announcement submitted by the SNP.

He said that "the municipality of Rožaje has a lot of unused potential and natural resources, given by God for a better and better quality of life for the citizens of Rožaje".

"These potentials are used to a small extent, so the municipality of Rožaje, according to the development index, is in 19th place in Montenegro. Unfortunately, many have decided to leave and never return, due to the lack of jobs, poor living standards, and among them is the most Orthodox population, which in the past 30 years in Rožaj, from 30 percent, has been reduced to barely 2,5 percent. That is why we need faster and more effective development of Rožaj, greater investments in tourism, agriculture, livestock development, improving the living conditions of citizens in suburban and rural settlements, better road infrastructure, electrical network, water, so that we can talk about further progress," said Bulatović.

According to him, investing in food production is one of the safest investments.

"That's why we will provide many more privileges and support to all farmers. We will ensure the guaranteed purchase of surplus products from all agricultural producers and find a market for their products. We will invest in tourism, primarily rural and mountain, to use all the potential and beauty offered by the Hajla mountain. Development and the encouragement of family businesses is the greatest and surest chance that must not be left to chance. Our people in the diaspora who are successful in their businesses are ready to invest in Rožaje and open mini plants and factories that will, with adequate support and guarantees from the municipality create conditions for new jobs. Also, we must not allow our forests to be destroyed and raw untreated wood to be exported outside our municipality, but we will encourage the processing of that raw material because Rožaje has the potential and conditions to be the most famous for wood processing, not only in Montenegro but also wider," said Bulatović.

According to him, the largest part of Rozaj area consists of pastures and forests, rich in forest fruits, medicinal plants, mushrooms and other forest fruits.

"Almost one hundred percent of those fruits are exported, but at low prices considering their quality. It was recently announced that Montenegro earned more money from the export of forest fruits than from the sale of the forest. So, this is our great resource and our potential and a small investment is enough to use it all in the right way, not only for the benefit of Rožaj, but also the whole of Montenegro would benefit greatly from it," said Bulatović.

He said that the coalition "For the future of Rožaj" consists of the Socialist People's Party and the New Serbian Democracy, and the list is led by Anđela Beloica.

"We are all one team and we are convinced that together with your support we can achieve a result that will enable us to participate in the local government. We ask for your support in order to implement all those ideas and needs that have not been realized but were necessary so that you could better and to live better in your house and on your property. In order to improve our city, we need to cooperate better and more, to plan together and make important decisions for all of us in agreement," said Bulatović.
