"The role of local communities, as a form of association of citizens, is neglected and reduced to a minimum at the local level," said Nebojša Barjaktarović, a candidate for councilor of the coalition "Može Bar, može Crna Gora".
The announcement states that "councils of local communities in Bar are mostly politicized and represent an instrument in the hands of political parties, primarily DPS".
Barjaktarović points out that local communities act as political pre-election headquarters and that it is practically impossible for a citizen without the support of local political leaders to enter the leadership.
"The election of the president and the council of the local community, instead of direct election by the residents of the MoZ in accordance with the "Decision on local communities", is done in the local parliament based on the election results in the local elections," says Barjaktarović.
As he said, he will advocate for the complete depoliticization of local communities and transparency in work, because citizens do not have a clear picture of the role and purpose of local communities.
"We will do everything to strengthen civic activism through decisions where local residents themselves decide on their needs and interests for development in the areas of settlement planning, housing, local traffic, culture and environmental protection," he points out.
"Problems and the vision of the development of the Ministry of Health should be solved and proposed by the citizens who live there and who are best acquainted with them", concludes Barjaktarović.
