Đurović and Brnabić: Continuously work on improving political and overall relations

Serbia is ready to provide assistance to Montenegro during the "coming food crisis" caused by geopolitical events on European soil.

This was said by the Prime Minister of Serbia, Ana Brnabić, during a meeting with the President of the Parliament of Montenegro, Danijela Đurović.

Speaking about Montenegrin-Serbian relations, Đurović praised the cooperation between the two countries in certain departments, namely: internal affairs, traffic, infrastructure and economy. She noted that there is additional space for strengthening relations in other areas as well, in accordance with the interests of the two parties.

The interlocutors agree that Montenegro and Serbia have a brighter future, and that they should continuously work on improving political and overall relations, with the aim of achieving as much progress as possible for the citizens of both countries.

Emphasizing that the economy, energy and infrastructure are very important areas for encouraging joint activities, Đurović expressed interest in improving economic cooperation and implementing joint projects in the field of infrastructure and energy, bearing in mind that there is great potential in the aforementioned areas.

In this sense, she pointed out that it is necessary to consider possibilities for more specific cooperation when it comes to connecting highways, improving the railway infrastructure, increasing the use of the capacity of the Port of Bar and overhauling the Belgrade-Bar railway.

The Prime Minister of Serbia, Ana Brnabić, pointed out that Serbia will support any initiative that contributes to the economic benefit of the two countries, and expressed her readiness for Serbia to provide assistance to Montenegro regarding the upcoming food crisis caused by geopolitical events on European soil.

She placed particular emphasis on the European integration path of the countries of the Western Balkans and praised Montenegro as a leader on that front, which serves as an example for other countries in the region.

"Confirmation of the initiated activities on this plan are numerous meetings of ministers in the Government of Montenegro with their colleagues in the Government of Serbia, and especially the recent visit of a high delegation of the Government of Montenegro, led by Prime Minister Dritan Abazović and Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Joković, which resulted in the achievement of important agreements in the field of agriculture, food security, finance, and regulation of payment transactions," the Assembly's announcement states.
