Izet Izo Ćorović, a candidate for councilor on the "Bosniak Party – Right for Bar" list, said that the Bosniak Party will advocate for the construction of a mosque in that city, because it is their human and constitutional right.
"The Bosniak party, as part of the future local government, will persistently advocate for obtaining an urban plot for the construction of an Islamic religious building in the center of Bar, because it is a necessity in the religious, civilizational and cultural sense and because it is our human and constitutional right." said Corovic.
He said, as stated in the statement of the Bosniak party, that the problem of the lack of a religious building - a mosque for the religious needs of the Muslims of Bar - has been going on for several dozen years, since a request was submitted to the local administration to resolve the issue.
"From then until today, Muslims have been campaigning for the location and construction of a religious building - a mosque in the center of Bar. During that period, Muslims in the center of Bar performed their religious needs in the non-conditional Masjid Novi Bar, an adapted business space without the most basic conditions for performing basic religious needs. Ćorović announced.
He pointed out that these are thousands of people who live in the city center or near it and who need this kind of religious content.
"At the same time, it is a civilizational obligation of equality, especially in Bar, which is considered a city of multi-ethnic and multi-confessional harmony and coexistence. In this sense, in the next mandate of the local administration, we will insist on the decision on the allocation of an adequate location for the construction of this religious building and the creation of urban technical conditions for its construction. This will be the focus of our political activity and it is also a request that we will not give up, because it is right for the Bar", concluded Ćorović.
