"It is an undeniable sad fact that the city of Bar has not used its development potential. And that will change, after these local elections, because the potential is huge, both touristic and economic," announced the president of the Albanian Alternative Nik Đeljošaj.
As he said, the city where the largest port in Montenegro is located, the city where there is an olive tree that is supposed to be the oldest in Europe, the city that has an untouched coast of a magnificent lake does not deserve a government that has failed to valorize any of these potential.
"The good and harmonious interpersonal relations of the residents of Bar have been an example of mutual respect and appreciation for centuries, but only under this government have these relations deteriorated and the members of national minorities have been intimidated," Đeljošaj points out.
He emphasizes, "just as the Old Bar Fortress resisted various invaders, it will also resist this attempt to destroy the traditionally good relations of all the citizens of Bar, regardless of their national and religious affiliation, regardless of their native language."
He stated that Krajina and Ostros are a mirror of the government that will be seen off into political retirement at the local elections on October 23.
"Krajina and Ostros, despite all the potential they have for the development of tourism, remained, undeservedly, like an appendix on the development map of the city of Bar. From there, young people leave due to the lack of basic infrastructure, unemployment and the absence of prerequisites to implement any business idea that will provide them with a good livelihood," the announcement states.
Because of all the above, he adds that the Albanian Alternative provides full support to the candidate for the president of the municipality of Bar, Goran Đurović.
"We are convinced that his vision will return the city of Bar to the place it deserves on the economic and tourist map of Montenegro and that each individual will be valued solely according to what he knows and can do, and not according to criteria that are immanent to a party or some other affiliation." says Đeljošaj.
For him, "At least there must be a compass that will help Montenegro, in these troubled times, sail into a peaceful harbor!
"The Albanian alternative knows that Bar can do it, and that Krajina can do it, especially with Goran Đurović at the head of the city, who is the only candidate who brings together all the diversity of Bar," Đeljošaj concluded.
