SNP and GP URA will analyze the election results, the Democrats are satisfied: Citizens did not understand or the officials failed

The issue of responsibility for the poor results in the local elections on October 23 will be dealt with by the party bodies, when they have completed the analysis of the success, the "News" of the Socialist People's Party (SNP) announced.

GP URA announced that the highest party bodies will analyze the results of the local elections.

Despite the fact that after years of growth in these elections they changed the trend, in Democratic Montenegro they are satisfied with the outcome and do not announce a confidence check of the leaders of the municipal committees. An official of that party Boris Bogdanovic he said that they achieved growth in most municipalities, and that globally almost all parties fell compared to the 2020 parliamentary elections.

In addition to the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS), which lost the capital, the SNP, which once had the strongest party committee in Podgorica, fared the worst, but now remains below the census.

The DPS previously did not answer to "Vijesti" when they would raise the issue of checking the election failure, but this is a common practice of that party which, even after losing the parliamentary elections in 2020 and a poor result in numerous local elections, changed several presidents of municipal committees.

The SNP, whose leader, could also go that way now Vladimir Jokovic told "Vijesti" yesterday that "he will very quickly start analyzing all the election results, including the capital, and the election of its new leadership."

He reminded that he is the president of the City Committee Dragan Ivanovic resigned. The City Council will make a statement about it, which implies that it could also be rejected.

Vice President of the SNP Dragoslav Šcekić two days ago he told "Vijesti" that that party introduced the principle of responsibility, which means, he stated, that some will resign, be dismissed or rewarded because of the election results.

Director of the SNP and one of the current two councilors in the Podgorica parliament Bogdan Božović he confirmed to "Vijesti" that he will deal with the election of a new municipal board in the near future. Speaking about the election result, he said that they expected to receive the support of the citizens, considering that at the state level, the goals that were set by the formation of the 43rd Government were realized to the greatest extent.

He pointed out that in the Podgorica parliament they tried to contribute by raising some issues and talking about problems. "Somewhere we thought that the citizens would recognize it".

President of the SNP board in Pljevlja Saša Grbović he says that his party is in these circumstances, as he said, achieved a good result and will continue with quality work and rejuvenation of the party.

"We were voted for by people who believed that we are capable of implementing what we promised, and we are proud of them. We will be someone who will remind what others have promised, monitor the fulfillment of promises and criticize if someone tries to abuse people's trust. As we said, our list includes people who have their own careers in which we will continue to improve", he said for "Vijesti".

In Pljevlja, the SNP has had two councilors so far, as many as they won on Sunday in a coalition with GP URA (which until now did not even have a seat in the local assembly).

The independent performance of the SNP in Plužine brought that party 17 mandates, in Žabljak, where in 2018 they had six mandates with the DF, now they won three independently. In Kolašin, SNP won three mandates, while they had five mandates with DF in 2018, in Bijelo Polje two, the same as in 2018, while in Budva, Danilovgrad, Zeta and Plav they took one mandate each.

URA: The results will be a special point

The Civic Movement URA informed "Vijesta" that the analysis of the results of the local elections will be a special point at the sessions, and it will be considered by the highest party authorities. "The sessions will be held in the coming days, and the public will be informed of their conclusions in a timely manner," states the reply of the GP URA.

The coalition Citizens' Movement URA-CIVIS-Albanian Alternative won four mandates in the elections in Podgorica. In the previous local elections in 2018, the URA in coalition with the Democrats had 17 mandates in the Podgorica parliament.

The same alliance won three mandates in Bar, and four mandates with the Democrats in 2018. URA won two mandates independently in Bijelo Polje, and four mandates with the Democrats in 2018. In Rožaje, the URA won two mandates, and in 2018 it was left without a mandate. The URA won one mandate in Budva, and two mandates in Danilovgrad, while in 2018, in coalition with the Democrats, it had six mandates in that city.

In the local elections in Bijelo Polje, the URA achieved a result of 1255 votes, which is three times more than the result they achieved in the parliamentary elections on August 30, 2020, the holder of that list announced yesterday Suada Zoronjic.

Due to the bad election results in that municipality, the president of the Municipal Board and a member of the presidency of Prava Montenegro resigned yesterday. Predrag Terzic. He resigned from all positions in the party. That party did not pass the census in the elections on October 23.

Democrats: Podgorica loves new faces

Democratic Montenegro is, as an official of that party said Boris Bogdanovic, satisfied with the election results. He reminds that one of the basic goals for which the party was founded was, as he said, the fight against the former regime and their value system at all levels of organization. This goal, he adds, was achieved in the parliamentary elections and in "great victories in all local elections after that".

"When it comes to the analysis of the results, this is how things are: in the 2020 parliamentary elections, in the municipalities where the local elections were held, the coalition around the Democrats won 13 percent, and in the local elections after that, the coalition around the Democrats and the independent list of the Democrats in some municipalities it won more than 15 percent, and that's if we exclude the result achieved in the municipalities where we performed together with Europe now. Which is an increase of more than 2 percent compared to the elections of two years ago", says the head of the group of deputies in the Assembly.

He states that the Democrats achieved significant growth in most of the municipalities, except in Budva "for known reasons" and Podgorica: "Where all the parties that participated in the parliamentary elections two years ago lost an identical percentage of votes, 1/3 each. which went to Europe now and that: Democrats less by 7063 votes, DF, less by 18.444 votes, URA less by 3.979 votes.

Of course, Podgorica is also known for traditionally voting for new political entities, coalitions and individuals, which is not the case with other municipalities. So earlier, at one time, the Movement for Changes had exceptional support, then the coalition The European Face of Podgorica, Positive Montenegro and so on," explains Bogdanović.

He claims that it is not possible to generalize things, because there are examples of municipalities that are next to each other, and the results are different. "In one, the Democrats have significantly more, for example than in Europe now, in the other it is the other way around. So, in total, the Democrats in these 14 municipalities where the elections were held have 51 councilors, and their colleagues from Europe now have 36. However, more important than that is that we hope that all those mandates will mean the destruction of the former regime after many years and decades," he says. interlocutor.

Bogdanović repeats that, as he says, that party has never subordinated itself to the party's interest and that it has shown this several times:

"We defended the 42nd Government and ministers from Europe now, even though we knew we were creating our own political competition. We defended the electoral will of the citizens even though we knew that the fight against the curtailment of the electoral will of the citizens would return with brutal revanchism towards all our staff. We rejected the suggestions and proposals to explain to the citizens that Europe has always attributed our solutions for returning child allowances, free textbooks, increasing pensions, old-age benefits and returning benefits to mothers to ourselves, which was not fair, but we did not want to demotivate the voters because a percent or two,” the Democratic official said.

Božović: People automatically vote for the new ones

Speaking about the reasons for the poor election result in Podgorica, SNP director Božović said that they will have to analyze it:

"Maybe there was too little time - the campaign started late. There were also large coalitions, we made a brave decision to go out on our own. It is possible that this also influenced the fact that people automatically voted for larger coalitions and for new people. Europe is now showing it, there is no dilemma," said Božović.

Stojović: I will resign, we failed

The president of the OO of the SNP, Bar Željko Stojović, told "Vijesta" that he will resign for moral reasons due to the achieved result.

“I expected more, I expected better. It happened - either we failed, or the people didn't understand the message we were sending, I don't know, but I certainly don't see myself as the leader of the SNP in Bar," Stojović said.

The SNP was also left without a mandate in Bar, where they also performed independently, and in 2018 won two mandates in a coalition with the DF.
