The president of the Municipal Election Commission in Budva, Đorđe Vujović, said that the OIIK brought a new record on the announcement of the preliminary results of the local elections, acting on the decision of the State Election Commission (SEC), after a complaint by the newspaper Građanska inizijatica.
After today's meeting of the MEC, he explained that no omission of a material nature occurred during the adoption of the first minutes.
The election list "Dr. Božidar Vujičić - Civic action - For a better Budva" submitted after the MEC rejected two objections to the SEC, the first of which related to the fact that the voters' right was violated in the elections in Budva, they did not freely choose representatives, but electoral lists, and the second referred to the record of preliminary results.
The SEC rejected the first argument, after which the Citizens' Initiative filed a constitutional appeal.
"Citizens who expressed themselves clearly and freely in the elections held on October 23 in Budva will not be victims of the ambitions of one individual to try to change the electoral system through the election cycle, and the Constitutional Court has also decided on the same complaints about open lists several times during previous local elections "It is important for the public to know that no political subject had objections of any material nature, and the citizens expressed themselves freely and with dignity. No one can dispute their freely expressed will," Vujović said.
