The Ambassador of the United States of America, Judy Reising Reinke, said that improving the abilities of Montenegrin police officers and prosecutors in the fight against organized crime is at the very top of the priorities of the US Government and the Embassy.
Director of the Police Directorate Zoran Brđanin, Chief Special Prosecutor Vladimir Novović and Ambassador of the United States of America Judi Rajzing Rajnke, as announced, today opened the FBI Mini Academy attended by members of the Police Directorate and representatives of the Special State Prosecutor's Office.
The first training module, out of the planned four, refers, as they say, to basic training on criminal investigation techniques and will be held from today until November 4.
"The significance of this training is multifaceted for the security system of Montenegro, and it is very significant that it is attended by police officers and representatives of the Special State Prosecutor's Office," the Police Administration said in a statement.
They add that the training is an opportunity for the members of those institutions to familiarize themselves with criminal investigative techniques, especially in the field of financial investigations, money laundering, cryptocurrencies and other segments which, they state, represent the priorities set in the most important strategic documents for the fight against organized crime.
Brđanin pointed out that this training is an indicator of the strong support of the US Embassy to the security system in the fight against organized crime, and used the opportunity to thank Rajnke and her team for supporting the Montenegrin police in all segments of its work, especially ICITAP and INL. in for continuous recognition of the needs of the Police Administration.
This, as he said, contributes to a large extent to the fulfillment of goals in the implementation of reform processes and the achievement of concrete results.
Brđanin thanked the FBI instructors for their efforts and willingness to share their knowledge with members of the Police Department.
Novović referred to two important projects that are being implemented with the support of the US Embassy.
He stated that this training, which will be held in the next few months, will provide the opportunity for special prosecutors and officers to get a first-hand insight into the functioning of the leading law enforcement agency of the US federal authorities, but also to acquire knowledge and skills that will help them in daily work.
Rajnke said that improving the abilities of Montenegrin police officers and prosecutors in the fight against organized crime, including its prosecution, is at the very top of the priorities of the US Government and the Embassy.
"The biggest goal of these courses is to help you build cases, which involve many components of the police and prosecutorial services, in coordination with each other," Rajnke said.
