The Parliamentary Committee for the Political System, Judiciary and Administration unanimously decided to hold a control hearing on November 15 regarding, as announced by the president of that body, the vice-president and Democrat MP Momo Koprivica, the "inhumane and bullying" detention of Metropolitan Amfilohi of the Montenegrin littoral in to the police, June 22, 2020.
Koprivica reminds that he proposed that agenda with the aim of "finding out the truth and giving the public the right to know all the circumstances under which the humiliating treatment" towards Amfilohi took place, which, as he states, was also noted by the institution of the Protector of Human Rights and Freedoms.
He pointed out that he has certain concrete knowledge, and that it is time to find out the full truth about the actions of the authorities in that case:
"Until the full truth about who and on whose order exposed Metropolitan Amfilohi to humiliating behavior in the premises of CB Podgorica, who and on whose order detained the Metropolitan for several hours even after the prosecutor's order to release him, and who should bear responsibility for this event".
The director of the Police Administration and authorized representatives of the UP, representatives of the Podgorica Security Center, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the acting VDT and the acting state prosecutor, the Protector of Human Rights and Freedoms, as well as representatives of the Metropolis, as injured parties in the case, were invited to the control hearing. "Without truth there is no justice and rule of law, and without justice and rule of law there will be no prosperity in our society," he concluded.
