The leader of the Movement for Change (PzP) Nebojša Medojević claims that "there is concrete evidence" that Prime Minister Dritan Abazović is involved in cigarette smuggling.
Medojević reacted to the allegations of Abazović, who accused him of "becoming a spokesperson for Bemax".
Medojević claims that Abazović "entered cigarette smuggling" together with former Prime Minister Zdravko Krivokapić and former Finance Minister Milojko Spajić "in the first half of 2021, when 92 truckloads of cigarettes were taken out of a warehouse in Port of Bar in just one weekend."
"There is concrete evidence of this in intercepted communications via SKY applications and already filed indictments by the Montenegrin prosecutor's office regarding the same operation. Such smuggling on a huge scale in a short period of time drew the attention of the intelligence service of a powerful Western NATO country, and then numerous actions focused on putting pressure on Krivokapić followed. and Abazović to stop these criminal activities as the leading people of the Government. Some agreements were also signed based on which the customs agents of that country are physically present in the Port of Bar and Montenegro," stated Medojević.
He also adds that "intelligence services and the police have collected extensive evidentiary material" which was delivered to the chief special prosecutor, Vladimir Novović.
"I humanly understand the nervousness of Abazović and his group because the investigation has already come to an end and the list of those arrested is expanding every day. It is not easy to fall asleep and wait for justice to knock on your door in the early hours, but they should not have entered into smuggling and crime. Now it is clear why Abazović sought a monopoly in the security sector and why he and his smuggling partners did everything to prevent me from taking over the coordination of the security services because they knew that would mean the end of cigarette and cocaine smuggling through Montenegro. Let Abazović take responsibility for that what awaits him and his criminal smuggling group, and let him not accuse me of the crime he committed," Medojević stated, among other things.
