"For the future of Šavnik": The public will learn about the criminality of the leadership of the municipality when the election process is over

The real scale of corruption, nepotism and other criminal actions of the previous leadership of the Municipality of Savnik, led by President Jugoslav Jakić, will be known to the public only when the election process is over, the "For the Future of Savnik" coalition announced today.

"The events during Sunday's elections at the remaining two polling stations in Šavnik are just one more confirmation of the recklessness and alienation from the people of a defeated value system personified in the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS), which fortunately is counting down its last days. About who are the voters who support the coalition gathered around the DPS speaks volumes for what the entire public was able to convince itself of yesterday, namely that their voters who were illegally registered in Šavnik and registered in the voter list come to the elections in organized van transport armed with baseball bats, knives and pepper spray . That is a sufficient indicator of the extent of their real ties with this municipality. In fact, it is about groups of armed hooligans who, instructed by local DPS leaders and apparently some members of the police, are trying to retain power in this municipality by violent means. They added that it is apparently acceptable to Jakić for the citizens of Šavnik to be harmed by the criminal groups he brings in from other cities if this is necessary to maintain his power.

"Proof that this is an organized criminal group is yesterday's footage from the polling station in Šavnik, when the president of the polling committee in front of the DPS asks the opposition representative, "why didn't you stop voting when we brought the first voter, but now at the end of the election day". the current president of the municipality speaks of victory when, instead of the vision of the development of Šavnik, his only instrument for staying in power is the beating of members of the electoral committees by criminal gangs, the organized bringing of dozens of people from other cities and pathetic speeches in the media and at public gatherings when he calls on NATO and the international community to interfere in the electoral process. The only thing we can support the opposing side is to repeat the call to the competent state authorities to apply the laws of this country and prosecute all persons involved in illegal registration in the electoral roll, attacks on members of electoral committees, and especially the criminal acts of certain local employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Police Directorate," said the "For the Future of Šavnik" coalition.

They stated that they are calling on all the citizens of Šavnik not to succumb to the provocations of the criminal groups gathered around the outgoing Municipal President, because, as they added, all this will pass, and the current municipal government will only be left with shame and shame that the people of Šavnik will never forget.

It took two hours yesterday for the election curtain to come down in Šavnik after four rounds, but the voting was still interrupted, so the voters will go to the polls again.

The election saga began in the town below Durmitor on October 23, when local elections were held and concluded in thirteen municipalities, but it was not concluded yesterday at two polling stations - in the municipality building of Šavnik and the village of Kruševice.

Voting was interrupted around 18:XNUMX p.m. because the members of the polling committees from the Coalition "For the Future of Šavnik" did not allow part of the newly registered voters to vote because, they claim, they have nothing to do with Šavnik.
