Đukanović: Relations between Egypt and Montenegro have been on the rise in recent years

Cooperation with Egypt is significant, especially at the political level, but also in the domain of investments and tourist connections, announced President Milo Đukanović.

He said this during the farewell visit of the Egyptian ambassador to Montenegro, Said Hindham.

Đukanović thanked Hindam for a successful diplomatic mission, with the assessment that the past few years have been characterized by the rise of relations between the two countries, based on friendship and tradition, to which the ambassador made a personal contribution, according to a statement from the Presidential Information Service.

Đukanović highly rated Egypt's policy and their contribution to preserving peace and stability in the Middle East, as well as within the framework of regional initiatives, which, he says, Montenegro is carefully following, recognizing the progress in development that the country is making.

Hindami thanked for the positive evaluations, emphasizing Egypt's interest in fostering relations with Montenegro through the establishment of a joint economic committee, as well as political consultations between the two ministries.

Hindami pointed out that the goal is "to reach a positive momentum until Montenegro establishes full stability and gets a new government. We understand the situation and are working on further building relations".

In light of the Climate Conference in Egypt, Hindami shared concerns about the state of climate change in the world, stressing that real results are necessary, for which additional funds are lacking.

Đukanović shared his impressions of the recent participation in the Climate Implementation Summit in Sharm el-Sheikh COP27, which was chaired by Egypt, while congratulating the host for the organization.

Đukanović thanked the ambassador for his support in ensuring that Montenegro is well represented, as well as the hope that the Conference will represent an important step in undertaking policies that will reduce climate change, the announcement concludes.
