Right Montenegro announced today that questions of nationality and language must be indispensable in the population census.
"The population census in Montenegro is a topic that has been occupying the attention of citizens for a few years now. The fact is that it must be prepared and held as soon as possible, especially if we take into account that we are already a full year late with the census, and the reason these are the current political events in the country. From the moment when the population census in Montenegro began to be talked about, in various political circles there were conflicting views on whether citizens should even declare themselves on the issue of nationality and the language they speak. Prave Montenegro is very clear on this issue, these two issues must be indispensable on the list", the statement of Prave Montenegro emphasizes.
They added that by omitting those questions, citizens would be denied the right to state their nationality and language in the most rude way possible, which, they say, would automatically mean a violation of basic civil rights, guaranteed by the Constitution of Montenegro.
"Of course, it is also clear to all of us who and why it does not suit the citizens of Montenegro to express themselves on the issue of language and nationality. It is clear to us that this does not suit those who have been trying to destroy the Serbian language, the Serbian people in Montenegro, and finally the Serbian Orthodox Church in Montenegro. They are afraid of the Serbs, and added fear arose the moment they counted us at the processions for the defense of the holy places," reads the announcement of the party headed by Marko Milačić.
"Gentlemen from the DPS, like all of you who inherit anti-Serb ideology, sooner or later you will have to come to terms with the fact that the Serbian people also live in Montenegro, that it has been like that since its inception and it will always be like that. You have wasted time for the falsification of our glorious history, for the abolition of the Serbian language in schools, for the adoption of the anti-Serbian Constitution and many other machinations. You have only strengthened us with this, and we will prove it to you in the census that will take place soon," concluded the statement of Prava Montenegro .
