The lack of agreement on key issues important for the further progress of our society is an indication that, unfortunately, there is no political will at the moment for Montenegro to begin the process of unblocking institutions and stabilizing political conditions, said the Vice-President of the Bosniak Party, Damir Gutić.
He stated in the press release that the Bosniak Party, through discussions with European partners, proposes that international mediation be one of the solutions to the crisis.
"The current political situation requires significantly greater involvement of our international partners. We are very concerned that there is no agreement on key issues, despite never clearer messages from EU officials. Bearing in mind that the latest EC report notes stagnation on the path to membership in the European Union, if there are no concrete developments quickly, Montenegro will in that case take the path of regression in terms of EU integration".
Gutić added that this scenario is quite realistic, "given the clear divisions in society and the reluctance for true dialogue".
"The Bosniak party, as a serious political subject, with the credibility of the only member of the EPP from Montenegro, proposes international mediation. We are ready to include all our capacities, so that Montenegro finally starts the path of social and political progress, comes out of the institutional crisis, because all of this is a prerequisite for holding extraordinary parliamentary elections. International mediation is a necessity at this moment, because the political parties that currently control the processes in Montenegro, aware of the rating in the public, are consciously running away from shortening the mandate of the Assembly and thus further complicating the already complex political the situation in the country", concluded Gutić.
