At the session of the Assembly, the Liberal Party will make a decision on possible support for one candidate for the position of judge of the Constitutional Court, for which the support of at least 49 deputies is necessary in this round, according to the announcement of that party.
As they say, "the support for all four candidates is unconstitutional and illegal, because in that case they would not have members of minority nations in that institution, and all MPs must know that when declaring".
They state that the President of the Constitutional Committee misled the deputies when proposing candidates.
They add that, "it is necessary to leave space at the public call for judges of the Constitutional Court, to respect minority rights guaranteed by the Constitution to proportional representation in state authorities, as well as Article 10 of the Law on the Constitutional Court, which as an imperative norm guarantees that right to members of minority nations and others of minority communities".
The Liberal Party will emphasize, "eventually support one candidate for judge of the Constitutional Court, in order to unblock the work of the court which, together with the Constitution, is the first essential guardian of the state, regardless of all the fraudulent procedures of the old-new parliamentary majority".
"Support for one candidate for judge of the Constitutional Court will be conditioned by the government's guarantee that, as they are obliged to, they will take into account the proportional representation of members of minority nations in the next election," concludes the announcement of the Liberal Party.
