Key functions entrusted to women in Budva

Budva is, by all accounts, the first city in Montenegro to entrust key functions in the Municipality and public enterprises, sports and cultural institutions to women. This was done after women of the fairer sex were entrusted with the majority in the local parliament, thus writing a new page in the political history of the state and the city.

Mayor of Budva Milo Bozovic he placed his trust in expert, professional and educated women, whom he appointed as his closest collaborators. Women make up the majority of the team in charge of implementing Božović's ambitious city development plan over the next four years.

They are responsible for municipal finances, economy, tourism, but also for tax collection, ensure normal water supply, fight against corruption, work on the European perspective of the city, and design promotion, are in charge of organizing festivals, cultural heritage...

Thus, she holds one of the most important positions in the Municipality after the presidential position - chief administrator Nevenka Božović Jovović. The chief administrator is responsible, among other things, for coordinating the work of authorities and services, giving opinions on acts that determine the organization and working methods of local administration, but also giving professional instructions and instructions for the work of authorities and services for the proper application of laws and other regulations.

The first man of Budva entrusted the finance sector Sonja Kuljaci, who was appointed acting secretary of the Secretariat for Finance. Kuljača has just drawn up the draft budget for the next year, according to which the coffers of the tourism metropolis will weigh 41 million euros, and thus designed financial support for numerous investment projects planned for 2023.

Božović was responsible for the economy Jelena Savić, who was appointed acting secretary for the economy. It is a municipal department that, among other things, takes care of the development of tourism, numerous economic activities, encouraging the development of agriculture, but also regulating the state of taxes and other activities.

What makes Budva recognizable over the years is certainly culture and sports, so it is one of the "richest" secretariats, namely the Secretariat for Social Activities, whose budget is as much as ten million euros, which Božović entrusted to manage. That secretariat coordinates the work of cultural institutions, takes care of the development of sports, but also of financing sports clubs and sports centers and institutions, in order to raise them to the highest possible level. It provides better conditions for children's education...

The main financial injection to the municipal budget is the collection of taxes, as much as half of the money inflow is provided in this way, and this is done by the Administration of Local Public Revenues. He has been at its head for more than two years Vesna Kovačević, and Božović trusted her to continue her successful work. Kovačević "breaks" records year after year, so the tax collection exceeded even 18 million euros, with the principle of a non-selective approach, a model that implies that tax, and especially tax debt, should be collected from every taxpayer, whether citizen, company or businessman...

The municipal Office for European Integration and Cooperation, which it manages, is in charge of projects that connect Budva with neighboring countries as well as those of the EU. Iva Bajković. The most important municipal company is certainly "Vodovod i Kanalizacija", whose budget is over ten million euros and which is in charge of ensuring that Budva has a regular water supply, especially during the summer months. He holds a leading position in this company Jasna Dokić.

Cultural institutions are also managed by women, so she is the director of the Museums and Galleries of Budva Lucija Đurašković, Budva National Library Mila Baljevic, while the director of the Public Institution "Grad Teatar" Milena Lubarda Marojević. Each of these cultural institutions managed to position Budva as the center of cultural events in Montenegro during the past years.

And in the leading position of the Sports Recreational Center "Budva", which manages the indoor swimming pool "Dragan Trifunović", there is a woman - she performs the directorship Ivana Liješević. At the head of the Public Institution Day Center for Children and Youth with Disabilities and Difficulties in Development "Biseri" is Miljana Radoman, while she is the director of the municipal company Academy of Knowledge Valentina Dabović.

Women make up the majority in the municipal parliament, so in the new convocation after the local elections, 33 of the 17 councilor mandates are held by the fairer sex.
