The head of the parliamentary group of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS), Danijel Živković, said today that the decision of the Special State Prosecutor's Office (SDT) to form a case on the work of the Government's Commission for Housing Affairs and, therefore, request the abolition of the immunity of DPS deputies, is a politically motivated activity that has for the purpose of harming that party.
At the press conference in the Parliament of Montenegro, he said that not even a month had passed from the moment when Prime Minister in technical mandate Dritan Abazović announced the criminal charges in this case, until the case was formed in the SDT.
"Parts of the SDT have obviously served to surround themselves with political dissidents and put themselves at the service of the executive power," Živković pointed out.
SDT asks the Assembly to revoke the immunity of DPS MPs Predrag Bošković, Dragica Sekulić and Suzana Pribilović, and Social Democrats (SD) MPs Ivan Brajović and Damir Šehović.
Apart from them, the investigation also includes Budimir Šegrt, Suad Numanović, Sanja Vlahović, Dražen Miličković, Osman Nurković, Jelena Radonjić and Aleksandar Jovićević.
Živković said that DPS filed criminal charges against former ministers Olivera Injac and Vesna Bratić, and former prime minister Zdravko Krovokapić, but that, as he claims, SDT did not react in those cases.
"We have not received a response to any of those reports... We also warn Abazović that he is instrumentalizing parts of the SDT in this way," he emphasized.
The MP of DPS also stated that SDT "obviously does not have any treatment towards the elections in Šavnik".
"It had some reaction after the fifth or sixth round of voting...", he added.
Živković stated that the DPS has no problem with determining responsibility.
"We acted on principle when we voted to lift the immunity of our deputies. Others did not vote for the removal of immunity when it came to their deputies... Parts of the SDT instrumentalized themselves with the aim of causing damage to the DPS, and on the orders of Abazović. At Abazović's 'spectacular' media conference, held two days before the election, there was also an adviser to the prime minister who resolved the housing issue in this way... We will have an answer to this. We are telling Abazović that his responsibility will be investigated," said Živković.
When asked if the DPS will vote to remove the immunity of MPs, he replied:
"We have no problem with removing immunity. We said we have no problem waiving immunity. Now, a month after the criminal complaint, we receive the case, and there is no answer to the illegalities for which we filed criminal complaints. All this is being organized so that someone could lower the rating of the DPS- and, but also returned his rating, which fell below the census. You don't have to take away our immunities, we will give up all of them, "Zivković underlined.
He said that, based on his belief and knowledge of his colleagues who were in the Housing Commission, he believed that they followed the legal regulations and "would not exceed their authority and assign something to someone that does not belong to them."
"Many moral verticals got apartments in this way. Zdravko Krivokapić, Dragan Šoć, Branka Bošnjak got them... We will come out with information about who all got apartments in this way," he said.
When asked how he comments on the allegations that 60 binders disappeared during the transport of Government materials to the State Archives, as well as audio recordings from Commission sessions, Živković replied that it was a question "for those who are in the Government today".
