The Montenegrin authorities are ready to intensify the reform processes with the goal of full membership in the European Union. I believe that we can be a member in the next couple of years, announced the Minister of the Interior, Filip Adžić.
He said this during his visit to Brussels, where he met with the EU's special envoy for the Western Balkans, Miroslav Lajčak.
Lajčak emphasized that, "The European Union strongly supports Montenegro, but that a broader social and political consensus is expected in order to implement the necessary reforms on its European path," according to the Ministry of the Interior's announcement.
The interlocutors discussed the political situation in Montenegro, the unblocking of institutions and the future plans of the Government, when it comes to its accession to the EU, the announcement concludes.
