The Democratic Front (DF) announced the dismissal of the vice-president of the Municipality of Andrijevic, Veselin Raketić (NSD), saying that with this "coup's dismissal" the electoral will of the people of Andrijevic was grossly altered, the coalition agreement was violated and the election victory in 2020 was betrayed.
They invited "former coalition partners" to organize new elections in that municipality.
Raketić was replaced yesterday by the votes of the opposition DPS and SD, and one councilor from the ruling Democrats, Bogdan Mijović.
"This shameless act was voted for by the Democratic Party of Socialists, which lost the elections two years ago, in collaboration with a fugitive Democrat councilor. With this act, a new parliamentary majority was established that does not result from the electoral will of the citizens. Therefore, we are justified in claiming that certain factors from the local government got their fingers involved in the said immoral agreements and dishonorable actions," DF announced.

"We conclude that this betrayal of the great popular victory in Andrijevica in 2020 represents usurpation of the electoral will and that this is not allowed in democratic societies. Let those who are under the guard of the former regime and did this for its needs be sure that they will not get away with a fraudulent idea and that the people of Andrijev will certainly not allow that," they said from that political alliance.
They said that it is "inadmissible to change the will of the people" and that the "Citizens' Court" is a justified solution.
"That's why there are two ways out of this situation: to restore the winning coalition, which no longer exists due to the defection of the Democratic councilors to the DPS side, or to hold local elections in Andrijevica as soon as possible.
"We have no doubt that those responsible for this robbery scandal will be adequately punished in those elections, and that is why the DF, at this moment, is calling on the former coalition partners to organize new elections so that this kind of thing never happens again," the DF concludes.
