If the census were to be held now, 48,3 percent of citizens would identify themselves as Montenegrins.
A public opinion survey by the Center for Democracy and Human Rights (CEDEM) showed that 32,7 citizens would declare themselves Serbs, Bosniaks 8,3, Albanians 4,5, and Muslims 3,9.
48,6 percent of citizens said they spoke Serbian, and 36,1 percent spoke Montenegrin.
The respondents, 1,4 percent of them, declared themselves in favor of one of the combinations of regional Slavic languages.
A total of 1.019 respondents participated in the CEDEM survey, which was conducted from December 2 to 17.
