The Europe now movement supported the Proposal for Amendments to the Law on Local Self-Government, adding that defeated political actors resort to all undemocratic methods in the "twilight" of their rule.
"It is more than obvious that defeated political actors in the twilight of their rule are resorting to all undemocratic methods, especially ignoring the Constitution and laws of Montenegro with the clear motive to usurp positions as long as possible - robbing public resources," said the party.
They state that this is clearly indicated by the behavior of the chairman of the municipal Election Commission, Veselin Vukčević, who, as they claim, consistently ignores the demands of the members of that collective body, and the binding instructions of the State Election Commission.
The Europe Movement has now announced that, therefore, it is clear how much the DPS party directive dominates in relation to the laws of this country, but also in relation to the clearly expressed will of the citizens.
"Consequently, we welcome the Proposal for Amendments to the Law on Local Self-Government, which aims to prevent the arbitrariness of any illegitimate authority from prolonging the announcement of the final results to continue managing local self-government and abusing public interests indefinitely," the announcement concludes.
