Meša Adrović in court due to conflict of interest

The Agency for the Prevention of Corruption (ASK) found that the president of the Petnjik committee of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS), Mehmet Meša Adrović, and that party's councilor in the Nikšić Municipal Assembly, Rajko Perović, were in a conflict of interest.

The agency concluded that Adrović violated two articles of the Law on Prevention of Corruption because, as a public official, he was simultaneously a member of the Board of Directors of the public company "Communal Services" as well as the executive director and authorized representative of the bus carrier "Simon Voyages".

Despite invitations from KAS, he did not attend either of the two scheduled hearings. However, between the two hearings, he informed the ASK that he had submitted his resignation as a member of the Management Board of "Communal Activities" to the Committee for Selection and Appointment. It should be confirmed at the next session of the Petnjica Municipal Assembly.

As stated in his property record for 2016, Adrović as a member of the Board of Directors does not receive compensation, but as the executive director of "Simon Voyages" he reported that he receives 2.000 euros per month.

Adrović is the owner of two apartments, three houses and more than 2.700 square meters of office space.

The agency filed a request to initiate misdemeanor proceedings against Adrovic before the competent court.

The member of the DPS in SO Nikšić, as stated, violated the Law on Prevention of Corruption because he was the executive director of "Auto matrix" and the executive director and authorized representative of "Ražepa" at the same time as a member of the council.

Perović attended the Agency hearing on September 12, where he said that he was not familiar with the legal provisions because he was a public official for the first time. He said that he was on the parliamentary list, but that he gave up his position when he received information from the legal department that he was in a conflict of interest.

"He also stated that due to his poor state of health, he was being treated in Belgrade, that he is still receiving medical therapy, which he attached the medical documentation (discharge list) for inspection," reads the decision of the ASK.

After that, Perović made a change in the Central Register of Business Entities (CRPS) for "Auto matrix", and the Nikšić branch of the Tax Administration, at his request, submitted a request for the liquidation of "Ražep" to the Registry.

Perović had a 50 percent share in "Auto matrix", and now Vladimir Perović has been appointed as the executive director.

"Ražep", as stated in the CRPS, deals with local agricultural production. According to the property register, Perović has a livestock fund worth 56.000 euros.
