Politicians and parties should join the conversation in order to ensure a functional Constitutional Court and create the right conditions for future presidential and parliamentary elections, said the special envoy of Great Britain for the Western Balkans, Stuart Pich.
As reported by the British embassy, he spoke about the current political situation in Montenegro.
"The United Kingdom and our allies share an unwavering commitment to the security and well-being of this region, including Montenegro. The current prolonged political impasse leaves Montenegro with a transitional government in geopolitically and economically challenging times. Montenegrin politicians and parties should now join the conversation in order to ensure a functional Constitutional Court and the right conditions for future presidential and parliamentary elections," the announcement states.
He adds that the United Kingdom is actively interested in this process.
"As NATO allies, it is especially important that we adhere to clear common values on which harmonized positions in the field of defense, security and foreign policy are based. Only on the basis of such common interests, our successful cooperation in many areas continues," Pič concluded.
