The leader of the Christian Democratic Movement, Dejan Vukšić, said that the priority of the Movement will be the Christian reconciliation of Serbs and Montenegrins.
"This is not a platitude, but a prerequisite for the healing of society and any positive progress," said Vukšić at the Movement's media conference.
He emphasized that the solution to this issue is the complete shutdown of those extreme, superficially opposing blocs, which feed each other with their policies and spreading hatred:
"And they don't allow us to live like the rest of the normal world."
He pointed out that the recipe for healing society is accepting people as they feel and express themselves, as well as a common fight for the motherland - Montenegro.
"Our motherland is not some other country, but Montenegro, which is the most important to us. The division between the citizens of Montenegro can only be between those who are professional, brave and honest on the one hand, and those who are not, on the other hand. Let's give a chance to such people, and not to the representatives of those political parties who tell the same story, and in fact they only install their henchmen for civil servants who serve, not even those parties, but only individuals who control those political centers", said Vukšić.
Vukšić pointed out that the decision makers in the Christian Democratic Movement are:
"Just us in our house in Montenegro. I personally applied this in the National Security Agency, the Agency's officials know that...".
He emphasized that the priority of the Movement is to change the electoral legislation, stating that he will stand for a system of open lists, which represents the direct democracy of citizens.
Vukšić said that the Movement made the decision to run for president for several reasons:
"First of all, as a long-time lawyer who performed the most important functions, primarily in the system as a judge, and later as a civil servant, director of ANB and for more than 20 years as a lawyer and owner of a law office. "I owe nothing to anyone, except this state, and I have no obligations nor do I receive instructions from anyone," Vukšić pointed out.
He pointed out that, as a candidate, he is ready to discuss the way of cooperation with the parties that are their natural allies, the mode of joint action in the presidential elections and finding the best solution in order to deal a political blow to the retrograde political structures against which they are fighting together. Those allies, as he clarified, are all those who sincerely supported the 42nd Government. They are, as he said, the ministers in that Government, the Democrats, United and True Montenegro.
Answering the question of "Vijesti" on which electorate they are counting on, Vukšić said that their mission is to present the truth to the citizens, that they have a clear position and that they will be happy if the citizens recognize it.
"If not, the citizens cannot be blamed for that".
He pointed out that they count on collecting a sufficient number of signatures for the candidacy, because if they didn't count on that, they wouldn't enter the presidential race.
He subsequently clarified that one of the founders of the movement, Zdravko Krivokapić, although he was announced as one of the speakers at the conference, did not want to expose himself politically.
