Prava Montenegro announced that it will support one of the leaders of the Democratic Front, Andrija Mandić, in the presidential elections.
They said that the Presidency and the Main Committee of Prava, presided over by the leader of that party, Marko Milačić, discussed the issues of the political crisis and "challenges ahead", with special reference to the upcoming presidential elections.
The Presidency and the Main Board of Law took a position on the need to unify and gather the "forces of August 30" 2020, which made up the coalition "For the Future of Montenegro" and support a joint candidate, as a responsible move towards voters who are "tired of discord and constant division of victory in which they were the most dominant part in the previous parliamentary elections".
"The failure of negotiations on the formation of the 44th Government, which is a direct consequence of the politically and diplomatically invasive interference of representatives of the international community in the internal affairs of the sovereign state and the open stigmatization of some of the leaders and political parties as an unacceptable part of the Montenegrin political scene, imposed as a condition, it seems, the European integration of Montenegro, the thesis of reducing internal politics to parties of the so-called center and parties that, in terms of cooperation with international partners, mean nothing. This kind of narrative and de-sovereignization of Montenegro is unacceptable, but also unjustified and represents the most direct trampling of the constitutional right of the citizen to choose and be elected, reducing it to a merely written norm that does not find its meaning or its existence in reality", announced Prava.
They said that, in the light of current political events, the Presidency and the Main Board of Law express their support for European integration, with the necessary condition of preserving "cultural, historical and traditional heritage without subordinating sovereignty to essential control and conditioning of political life", in which context, as they said, , among other things, the important candidacy of Mandić in the presidential elections.
"Therefore, the Presidency of the Right of Montenegro as well as the Main Committee decided by a majority of votes to support the Democratic Front candidate Andrija Mandić in the upcoming presidential elections. On the wave of freedom welcomed on August 30, the Presidency and the Main Committee of the Right of Montenegro invite citizens to vote in the elections in March go to the polls in as large a number as possible, in order to once again confirm the won victory and in order to continue the unstoppable decline of DPS", the announcement concludes.
