Members of the Parliament of Montenegro Andrija Nikolić, Branimir Gvozdenović and Damir Šehović, during the meetings at the Prayer Breakfast in Washington, insisted that the strategic cooperation of Montenegro with the United States of America is of crucial importance in terms of the further democratization of society and the exit from the two-year institutional crisis that has slowed down the path countries towards the European Union.
This is stated in the announcement from the Parliament of Montenegro.
"Deputies Nikolić, Gvozdenović and Šehović, on the sidelines of this global event, had numerous bilateral meetings with congressmen, senators, businessmen and other important officials from the USA," the Montenegrin parliament added.
As stated in the announcement, at the event in Washington, which gathered more than 1.500 dignitaries, including members of the US Congress, politicians, businessmen, religious leaders and other renowned guests from around the world, the President of the United States of America, Joseph Biden, addressed with the message that strength and determination define America even in difficult times.
They add that this time the Prayer Breakfast was dominated by messages of peace, but also calls for freedom and an end to the war in Ukraine.
"Ukrainians do not allow despair, and thanks to the courage of Ukrainian soldiers and the help of friends, we have a chance to expel evil from our country," was the key message sent by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to dignitaries from over 100 countries around the world.
The prayer breakfast, which has been organized since 1953, when this kind of event was held for the first time by the then president of the USA and one of the victors over fascism, General Dwight Eisenhower, aims to help build peace in the world, to strengthen personal relationships between leaders, as well as to deepen the international connection of states through solidarity and care for each other, the Assembly concludes.
