The Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) is committed to the process of European integration, which requires competent and functional institutions, said the general secretary of that party, Aleksandar Bogdanović.
The DPS announced that Bogdanović spoke with Canada's ambassador Giles Norman today and informed him about the party's activities, especially in view of the campaign for the presidential elections.
It is added that Bogdanović emphasized his strong commitment to the process of European integration, for which, as he stated, competent and functional institutions in Montenegro are necessary, ready to respond responsibly and efficiently to the needs of reform processes.
As stated, Bogdanović pointed out that the DPS, as an opposition pariah, tried to defend the state interests of Montenegro and the institutions of the system, which were painstakingly built since the restoration of independence, and which collapsed in the last two years.
Norman recalled the previous successful relations between Montenegro and Canada, which were further strengthened by the partnership in the NATO alliance and joint activities in the field of defense.
"He expressed the hope that political actors will respect the democratic principles of transparency, dialogue and putting the national interest above party policies, so that the reform agenda will be completed without delay and the European integration of Montenegro will continue with the desired dynamics," the announcement states.
