SDP independently in Cetinje: Đurašković is the main candidate for the list holder

The Social Democratic Party (SDP) will participate in the local elections in Cetinje under the slogan "Let Cetinje live," and the most serious candidate for the list holder is Nikola Đurašković, "Vijesti" has learned.

At the end of August, Ranko Krivokapić's party sent an invitation to opposition parties, associations and individuals for discussions about a joint appearance in the local elections in Cetinje, stating that this would offer voters a healthy political alternative.

Democratic Montenegro rejected the SDP's invitation, while the Civic Movement URA said they were ready to cooperate only in the event of the formation of a single opposition list.

The interlocutor of "Vijesti" from the SDP said that, after the rest of the opposition rejected the call to unify, that party is the closest to an independent appearance in the elections in Prijestinica. Emphasizing that the party is satisfied with the results of the local elections in 2013 and last year's parliamentary elections, the interlocutor of "Vijesti" said that he expects the SDP to be part of the future Cetinje government.

"The board of Cetinje has already created a visual identity, and will implement the campaign under the slogan "To live Cetinje". With this, we want to point out the very bad state of Cetinje, as well as high unemployment, emigration and the silent death of the city, and the need for things to change urgently," he said. Stating that the party has been carrying out a field campaign in Cetinje for three months, the interlocutor of "Vijesti" said that the consultations on the list holder are in the final stage.

"One of the options is a well-recognized non-party candidate, and the most serious candidate within the party is Đurašković, the current head of the committee club and former secretary for communal affairs of the capital.

It is possible that one of the recognized women from the SDP in Cetinje will be proposed as a candidate for the list holder", said the interlocutor of "Vijesti".

The elections in Cetinje should be held on November 26, together with the elections in Tuzi, Mojkovac and Petnjica. So far, only elections in Tuzi have been scheduled for that date.

The Democrats had previously announced that they would run independently in the elections in the capital, and the other parties in Cetinje have not yet announced their model of performance or the holders of electoral lists.

Nedović heads the board in Mojkovac

The Mojkovac committee of the SDP elected Božidar Batko Nedović, a businessman from that town, as its president. He said that he expects a good result in the local elections.

"The Municipal Committee of SDP Mojkovac must come up with an adequate solution so that young people do not leave Mojkovac, because young people have not been taken care of for decades. In the upcoming local elections, we will show that the policy successfully implemented by the SDP at the state level is very strong and sustainable in Mojkovac as well," he said. The elections in Mojkovac should be held on November 26.
