Bečić: When it comes to Đukanović's accusation that I encouraged Milošević, he must have confused me with himself

Presidential elections on March 19 for Montenegro have much greater significance than all previous ones, and everyone who wants good for the country must act responsibly towards their homeland, and support those who nurture a true civic concept, according to Democratic presidential candidate Aleksa Bečić.

During his visit to Kolašin, he said that the people of Kolašin were always persistent fighters, with honorable intentions and chivalrous qualities, who made a significant contribution to the centuries-old struggle for the freedom of the Montenegrin people.

"Many times I had the opportunity to talk to and personally visit many citizens of Kolašin, and I know that we will always be warmly welcomed here, just as we are today on our "Path of Honor", because traditional hospitality is understood here, it goes hand in hand with honor ", he pointed out.

Bečić said that they did not forget and leave the north.

"On the contrary, as you can see, I am here among you, I have spent my life mourning for the betterment and progress of every person, every family, every pensioner, pupil and student. I am here with you, not in offshore destinations, not in Dubai, but here I stand as one of you", said Bečić.

He stated that for Montenegro these elections have a much greater significance than all the previous ones, because everyone who wants good for Montenegro must be aware of this and act responsibly towards their homeland, support those who cherish a true civic concept.

Bečić said that he fully understands the misunderstanding of outgoing President Milo Đukanović when it comes to the meaning of the word honor.

"For him, there is only justification for totalitarian rule and the corruption and robbery of his political party. It is dishonorable for him to say anything about honor and honesty because he is the personification of dishonorable Montenegro," he said.

As he added, when it comes to the specific accusation of Đukanović that he encouraged Milosevic, he must have confused him with himself.

"That's not surprising, especially considering that after August 30, he experienced so many defeats, that hallucination became a normal thing for him, and self-encouragement was a futile thing," he said.

Bečić stated that it is true that he entered politics as a young man, but not at the age of 11.

"But what to explain to a man who has as much to do with the truth as I do with his crime," said Bečić.

The President of Montenegro and the candidate of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) in the presidential elections on March 19, Milo Đukanović said at a rally in Mojkovac, referring to Bečić, that "the other opponent constantly calls for honor, and his biography does not give him the right to do so."

"Even as a member of the Socialist People's Party, he braved Milosevic's war campaign from Branko Bridge. After that, he was part of a policy that was proudly against the restoration of the independence of the state of Montenegro. "They were nowhere to be found in Cetinje when the Montenegrin parliament was in session and when we decided to follow the European path and become a member of NATO," said Đukanović.
