Europe's candidate now Jakov Milatovic increased support in most municipalities, where the movement participated in local elections last year, while Andrija Mandic The Democratic Front in some municipalities, such as Bijelo Polje and Kolašin, increased its party's rating, and in some places - Nikšić, it decreased.
Support to the DPS leader Milo Đukanović it mostly fell in most municipalities, while it slightly increased in Budva, where the party has been sliding towards the bottom for years.
In Nikšić, the Democrats and DPS fell the most
The presidential elections showed that the parties and coalitions that make up the government in Nikšić, compared to the result of the local elections in March 2021, recorded a big drop, as well as the opposition DPS.
According to the data of the Municipal Electoral Commission, the Democrats have the biggest decline, so it is their candidate Aleksa Becic received 6.375 fewer votes than that party achieved in March 2021, when they were in a coalition with the movement "Ne damo Nikšić". Bečić now received 4.781 votes, and two years ago 11.156 in the coalition, part of which now supported him and part supported Jakov Milatović.
Marko Mitrović, president of Demokrat Nikšić, is grateful to the citizens of Nikšić who voted for Bečić, stressing that the results showed that "we can always do better".
"For sure there were mistakes that will be corrected. But we learn from mistakes and create lessons for the future from them. We have shown here in Nikšić that we are a party of reputation, principles and integrity, of civic provenance, whose ideology is acceptable to everyone. We are the party of the future, which will work even more strongly for the well-being of all citizens of Nikšić, but also of Montenegro," said Mitrović.
He said that Bečić is an excellent statesman, "which he proved by holding one of the three highest state functions" and he regretted that this was not sufficiently recognized.
DPS participated in the local elections together with the Social Democrats and then they won 19.524 votes, while for Milo Đukanović now 5.784 fewer citizens voted (he received 13.740 votes).
As for the coalition for the future of Nikšić, led by the Democratic Front, 12.363 citizens gave their trust in the local elections, while their candidate Andrija Mandić won 4.175 fewer votes (8.188) in the town under Trebjes.
In March 2021, the Social Democratic Party had 1.259 votes, and their candidate Draginja Vuksanović Stanković now only 857.
Mirko Miličić, from the coalition for the future of Nikšić, of which the Democrats are a part, said that they are satisfied that fellow citizens are canceling their support for Đukanović, so the block gathered around DPS achieved a drop in support of about 5,88 percent at the city level. As he emphasized for "Vijesti", two thirds of the citizens of Nikšić (67 percent) showed that DPS is a thing of the past for them.
Coordinator of the Europe Now Movement for Nikšić, Ugleša Urošević, he said that Jakov Milatović and the PES achieved an extraordinary result in the first round of the presidential elections and that their candidate won around 32 percent of the vote, which is "very close to the number of votes received by Đukanović".
Mandić's Pyrrhic victory in Budva
Although Andrija Mandić won the most votes in Budva, that political alliance suffered the biggest defeat, losing 2.000 votes compared to last year's local elections. Namely, he received the support of 11.617 out of 4.082 voters.
If we compare with the local elections from October last year, when 11.607 voters exercised their right to vote, DF won an absolute majority - 5.690 votes. The SNP then won 401 votes. This means that the drop of these two parties on Sunday was about 2.000 votes.
A drop of almost a thousand votes was recorded by the Democrats and GP URA, who had 2.100 votes in the last local elections. Bečić, who was supported by GP URA in the presidential elections in Budva, was voted by 1.153 voters.
The opposition DPS can be more than satisfied with the elections, because compared to the local elections, they increased trust by almost 400 votes and thus stopped the decline from the past three election processes. Namely, the presidential candidate of this party won 3.173 votes, while this party won 3.077 votes in the last local elections when it participated together with SDP. Draginja Vuksanović Stanković was now supported by only 308 men and women from Budva.
The most satisfied with the elections is certainly Jakov Milatović, who won 2.785 votes despite the fact that he had non-parliamentary status.
In Pljevlja, support for the PES candidate was doubled
According to the official data of the MEC of Pljevlja, Jakov Milatović won 4.002 votes, almost twice as much as that party won in the local elections on October 23 last year, when it won 2.136 votes.
The Justice and Reconciliation Party, which supported Milatović in the local elections last year, had 128 votes.
PES is satisfied with the result: "We exceeded four thousand votes, which is almost twice as much as in the local elections. The only thing we are not satisfied with is the result we achieved in the rural area of the municipality, because due to the short deadline we did not have time to visit every village", they told "Vijesti".
Milo Đukanović received 4.435 votes, which is 149 less than his party had in the last local elections, when it participated in a coalition with BS, SD and SDP.
Andrija Mandić won the most votes, 6.538, which is 918 votes more than in the local elections in 2022. Mandić was now supported by the SNP, which won 1176 votes in the local elections with GP URA.
President of the Board of Nova in Pljevlje Milan Lekic he said that they were satisfied with the result: "We achieved an excellent result in Pljevlja and recorded a growth of 13,5 percent compared to the local elections", he said.
Aleksa Bečić won 2.107 votes, which is 1.438 votes less than in the local elections when the Democrats participated in a coalition with United Montenegro and the Movement for Pljevlja. Goran Danilović won 188 votes in Pljevlja, while SDP candidate Draginja Vuksanović Stanković won 108 votes.
Milatović 715 votes more than PES in the local elections in Kolašin
Jakov Milatović won 1.239 votes in Kolašin, which is 715 more than the PES list won in the elections on October 23 last year in that city. Such a result, he believes Vasilije Ivanovic, a member of the Main Board of the movement, is a "mirror of the work of Jakov Milatović at the state level during the time he was a minister".
In second place by the number of votes is Đukanović with 1.095 votes. The movement Zajedno gradimo Kolašin, which was led by DPS, and which in addition to that party also included SDP, SD and non-party figures, won 1.328 votes in the local elections.
Aleksa Bečić won 940 votes, which is 270 less than the joint list of Democrats and United won in the local elections. Goran Danilović received 160 votes.
According to the president of the local Democrats Petka Bakić, that party has no reason to be dissatisfied with the number of votes. He reminds that in the local elections they participated together with United and that, as he claims, "there is no drop in support for the Democrats in Kolašin".
Andrija Mandić won 906 votes, which is 286 more than the DF list won in the local elections. In that association, they say that they are extremely satisfied with the increase in the number of votes in Kolašin, as well as "stable support at the state level".
"Our presidential candidate won almost 300 more votes in Kolašin than the DF got in the local elections. This is a reason for satisfaction, as well as the fact that we retained our voters and have 20 percent at the state level," he told Vijesta. Boro Vuković (New).
In Tivat, DPS and allies are certainly falling
Milo Đukanović received the most votes from the people of Tiv, for whom 2.906 citizens voted, or 38,34 percent of the number of voters. The second highest number of votes was Jakov Milatović who was supported by 2.000 citizens (26.39 percent), while 1.400 Tiv residents voted for Andrija Mandić (DF) (18,47 percent).
Aleksa Bečić received 751 votes (9,91 percent), Draginja Vuksanović was supported by 319 citizens (4,21 percent), while 120 citizens of Tiv voted for Goran Danilović (1,58 percent).
Compared to the elections on October 23 last year, Đukanović achieved a result that was about two percent worse than the cumulative performance of all the parties that supported his candidacy (DPS, SD, LP and HGI minus SDP). Namely, 2.942 Tiv residents voted for those four parties, while their presidential candidate now received 38 fewer votes. It is already the third time in a row that the political option whose personification is Đukanović in Tivat has seen a constant drop in trust.
For the sake of illustration, in the local elections of August 2020, the parties that today stand behind Đukanović in Tivat together had almost 4.600 votes, which means that Đukanović's weekly result is weaker by 37 percent.
The political group that forms the backbone of the local government in Tivat, the coalition "Let's seal it - NP-DCG-PES-DSS" can be satisfied with what was achieved on Sunday, because the two candidates supported by its members - Jakov Milatović and Aleksa Bečič - were supported by 2.751 people from Tivat. This is over 550 votes (about 20 percent) more than the result of that coalition in the local elections on October 23, but it should be borne in mind that Milatović and Bečić were certainly supported on Sunday by some voters of two local civic lists - Tivat Actions. and the Bokeš Forum, which together had 639 votes in October.
DF can be more than satisfied with the performance of Andrija Mandić, whose rating on Sunday was more than double the result of that political alliance in October, when 656 Tiv residents voted for DF. Mandić's 1.400 votes are now, by all accounts, a lot of those who voted for the local Krtoljska list in October, which had 537 votes at the time, and 170 votes from Arsenal for Tivat, whose leaders were at his pre-election forum in Tivat, should also be added to him. Maybe even a hundred votes that the SNP had in October, which participated in the local elections in a coalition with the URA when the two parties together had only 185 votes.
Mandić is getting stronger in Bijelo Polje
Milo Đukanović also recorded a decline in Bijelo Polje, where he won 9.897 votes. In the autumn local elections, the DPS-SD-SDP coalition had 9.607 votes. Then the Bosniak Party acted independently and received 2.859 votes, and now it supported Đukanović.
Abaz Dizdarević (DPS) thanked the voters for their support, as well as the diaspora, for the coalition partners who supported Đukanović.
"We are very satisfied with the achieved result and the absolute dominance of the support that the Whites gave to our presidential candidate (almost 10.000 votes). Growth was achieved compared to the recently held local elections, and this result represents an excellent starting point for an even more convincing victory in the second round of the presidential elections. " he told "Vijesti".
Jakov Milatović received 6.779, Andrija Mandić 4.316, Aleksa Bečić 1, Goran Danilović 643, Draginja Vuksanović Stanković 425.
In DF, as they state, they achieved a better result than in the previous local elections - by 945 votes. They point out that these elections showed that the citizens largely withheld support for the coalition around DPS, which exercises power in that municipality.
"When we look at the results, it is clear that the DPS presidential candidate Milo Đukanović together with Draginja Vuksanović and the Bosnian Party has 43,75 percent, and that Milo Đukanović's party had approximately the same number of votes alone in the local elections. The policy of reconciliation and struggle for a better future, which for years the legacy of DF and Mr. Andrija Mandić has stable support from our citizens with an increase (local elections 3.512 and presidential 4.457 votes) which, considering the structure of the voting body, is within the limits of our expectations", said the president of the local DF Vaso Obradović.
In Ulcinj, low turnout with the dominance of Đukanović
Apart from the low turnout, the main feature of the first round of local elections in Ulcinj is the dominance of DPS presidential candidate Milo Đukanović, who managed to win 4.163 votes, which is 56,4 percent of the total number of voters, a solid result for Jakov Milatović (775 votes or 10,5, 1.536 percent) since he is taking part in the elections in the southernmost city for the first time and perhaps a slightly weaker score of Aleksa Bečić, although he doubled the votes (20,8 votes or XNUMX percent) compared to the party's last year.
Đukanović won almost twice as many votes as the DPS-BS coalition list in March last year (2.108 votes or 18,6 percent), but 3.350 votes less than in the presidential elections of 2.018. In the election headquarters of the DPS, they are satisfied with the results achieved.
"This is a great result for us in Ulcinj. In the second round, our projection is about 7,5 thousand votes, which is the number we had in 2018. Of course, we expect the support of all our coalition partners, especially the Albanian parties. But we will see in the coming days", said the interlocutor of "Vijesti" close to the top of the Ulcinj DPS.
Bečić won 829 votes or 7,14 percent in the local elections last year with the Democrats and Citizens of Ulcinj party. He reached yesterday's 20,8 percent thanks to the support of Prime Minister Dritan Abazović's URA, but the impression is that he could have won more than the 1.536 votes he won.
Andrija Mandić, who won 4,54 percent, could not have expected more because of Bečić, because of whom DF I did not participate in the local elections last year.
Certainly, the result of SDP presidential candidate Draginja Vuksanović Stanković, who won 438 votes in contrast to 2018, when she reached a figure of over a thousand, is also a disappointment. Despite this, SDP is satisfied with the result of their candidate.
"What has not been recorded for several election cycles is that in our municipality, only 36 percent of registered voters cast their votes." Of that, six percent supported our candidate, which speaks of the growth trend of SDP politics at the level of Ulcinj", said Naser Resulbegović, president of OO SDP, to the News.
He stated that due to unexpectedly less voter support at the level of Montenegro, Vuksanović Stanković resigned from all party duties.
"And she took the step of responsibility, which we failed to see in other politicians", Resulbegović said.
In the local elections in March 2022, SDP participated in a coalition with URA, DP, SD and DA and Force, after the elections. That coalition won almost 50 percent of the votes and is in power in Ulcinj.
The DUA - DSCG coalition then won 2037 votes, or 17,55 percent. The leader of Duo and the coalition, Mehmed Zenka, publicly supported Đukanović for President of Montenegro.
This was also done by DP leader Fatmir Đeka, but DPS believes that in Anamalit, where the DP is based, more can be done in the second round.
Forca, which last year won 1.674 votes or 14,42 percent, did not support any presidential candidate. The party is expected to decide on the issue before the second round of the presidential election.
SDP slipped to Cetinje
In Cetinje, according to MEC estimates, Đukanović won 4.501 votes (54,4 percent). In the local elections in December 2021 in Cetinje, DPS received 3.669 votes (40,55 percent), which means that Đukanović now achieved a better result by 832 votes.
Other candidates, whose parties participated in the local elections in Cetinje, recorded weaker results in the presidential elections.
Draginja Vuksanović Stanković received 1.224 votes or 15,6 percent, while SDP had 2.031 votes (22,45 percent) in the local elections.
In the presidential elections in the capital, Aleksa Bečić had the support of 670 voters (8,3 percent), 208 less than his party had in the local elections (9,7 percent).
Milatović was supported by 1.265 voters (15,6 percent), Mandić by 215 (2,66 percent), Jovan Radulović by 166 (2,06 percent), and Danilović by 33 (0,41 percent).
DPS is still counting on Bar for sure
According to preliminary data from the OIK Bar, Đukanović won 9.588 votes (43,7 percent) in this city, 1.321 votes more than his party with coalition partners in the local elections in October last year. DPS participated in the elections in Bar with the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and the Liberal Party.
In second place in Bar is Milatović with 5.217 votes (23,8 percent). He received 1.203 more votes than the Movement Europe Now in the local elections with the Democrats and United Montenegro (4.014).
In Bar, Mandić received 3.113 votes (14,2 percent), 415 more than the "For the Future of Bar" coalition in the local elections in October (2.698).
Bečić won 2.220 votes (10,13 percent) in Bar, 1.794 votes less than the Democrats in the local elections that took place with PES and United.
In Bar, Vuksanović Stanković received the support of 953 voters (4,3 percent), Goran Danilović 317 (1,4 percent) and Jovan Radulović 319 (1,45 percent).
Milatović "broke" again in Podgorica
In Podgorica, Jakov Milatović won almost 7.300 more votes than Đukanović.
According to data from the Election Commission of the Capital City, 37.743 voters voted for Milatović, 16.355 more than PES in the local elections in October last year.
Đukanović received 30.447 votes in Podgorica, about seven thousand less than his party with coalition partners (SD, SDP, BS) in the local elections.
16.117 voters voted for Mandić, 1.836 fewer than the "For the Future of Podgorica" coalition in the local elections.
Bečić was supported by 10.232 voters in Podgorica on Sunday, 396 less than his party in the local elections.
SDP candidate Draginja Vuksanović Stanković was supported by 2.686 voters, United leader Goran Danilović by 1.482.
Tičić: The diaspora is coming to us, and I expect the motivation of the sovereignists in Budva to strengthen
The leader of the Budva DPS, Milan Tičić, told the News that in Budva, they are recording a slight increase in support for their presidential candidate compared to the result of the coalition gathered around the DPS in the recently held local elections.
"Now, without the SDP, which gave its presidential candidate and obtained 316 votes at the level of Budva, we compensated for those votes and received new ones, which means that we achieved an increase of about 450 votes. More importantly, I think there is room for us to grow significantly in Budva in 14 days, a significant number of people from the diaspora are coming to us who did not use their right to vote in the first round, and I am sure that the motivation of the sovereignist and civic public in Budva will grow, which supported one of the remaining candidates or abstained in the first round, to go to the polls and support our candidate. I am an optimist. I believe that we can achieve a good result in Budva, which will make a strong contribution to the victory of our presidential candidate at the national level", said Tičić.
