The president of the Association of Montenegrins of Kosovo, Slobodan Vujičić, said today that tens of thousands of Kosovo citizens who live, work and vote there are also on the voter list of Montenegro.
In a statement, Vujičić stated that their names being on two voter lists is against the Montenegrin Constitution and the Law on the Election of Councilors and Members of Parliament and called on them not to vote in the second round of elections for the President of Montenegro on April 2.
"For example, only in the municipalities of Peć and Istok there are about 10.000 people who vote in both Kosovo and Montenegro. We hereby appeal to them with the best intentions not to succumb to pressure and not to come to the elections for the President of Montenegro on April 2, because thus they risk being prosecuted as double voters and losing the citizenship of the state of Montenegro," he added.
