Rakočević: Degradation of the criteria for acquiring citizenship - the intention to demographically recompose Montenegro

Member of the Presidency of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS), deputy Nikola Rakočević, said that the "degradation of the criteria" for acquiring Montenegrin citizenship is the intention to restructure Montenegro demographically.

"The decision on acquiring Montenegrin citizenship that Zdravko Krivokapić made on the day when his government was overthrown in the parliament, without the presence of the Minister of Internal Affairs, who is the proposer, without consulting the Parliament and illegally going beyond the limits of his powers, his political follower Abazović seems to be starting to applies," announced Rakočević.

He points out that every small country with great economic potential, like Montenegro, "protects its citizenship base", establishing strict criteria and "thereby making the country and the system more attractive".

"The downgrading of the criteria for acquiring Montenegrin citizenship has a purely political background, with the intention of demographically recomposing Montenegro according to the deniers of the Euro-Atlantic course. It is the last alarm for Western partners and citizens of Montenegro," concluded Rakočević.
