Assembly of the Capital City: Verified mandates of 58 councilors, the session continues on Thursday, Vuković announced his resignation

The assembly of the capital verified the mandates of 58 councilors at the constitutive session.

The session, which was attended by 51 councilors, was chaired by the second oldest councilor, Šukrija Serhatlić, because Branislav Milačić was absent.

Member of the URA Civil Movement, Luka Rakčević, on behalf of the government, suggested that the session be interrupted and continued tomorrow (Thursday, April 13), and that the President of the Assembly be elected then.

The councilors accepted Rakčević's proposal.

A second session will also be scheduled tomorrow, where the mayor and his deputies will be elected.

Ivan Vuković (DPS) said that he will resign from the position of mayor of Podgorica by the end of the day.

He pointed out that the ruling majority should elect a new mayor tomorrow.

Vuković previously announced that he would resign on April 12.

The newly elected President of Montenegro, Jakov Milatović, who led the Europe Now Movement (PES) list in the local elections in Podgorica on October 26, thanked the previous city administration for managing the city.

He congratulated the councilors of the new convocation on their election.

At the beginning of the session, the national anthem of Montenegro was sung.

The session was also attended by members of the opposition Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) and coalition partners.

In the local parliament, DPS with coalition partners will have 24 councilors.

They will be represented by Ivan Vuković, Časlav Vešović, Danka Kovinić, Nermin Abdić, Budimir Mugoša, Milica Lekić, Zoja Bojanić Lalović, Nikola Rakočević, Branislav Milačić, Andrija Čađenović, Slađana Vujacić, Edin Tuzović, Miloš Vukčević, Miloš Mašković, Žaklina Oštir, Miloš Nikolić, Ksenija Aranitović, Aleksandar Saša Zeković, Jovana Drobnjak, Mihailo Andušić, Maja Miročević Rotolo, Šukrija Serhatlić, Andrija Klikovac and Stefan Ćulafić.

Movement Europe will now have 12 councilors. According to the list, they are Jakov Milatović, Olivera Injac, Filip Ivanović, Vasilije Čarapić, Andrej Milović, Maida Šukurica Gorčević, Boris Pejović, Tihomir Dragaš, Filip Radulović, Anđela Jakšić Stojanović, Vojislav Šimun, Ana Đelević and Denis Hot.

The list of the Democratic Front has 11 councilors. They will be represented by Jelena Borovinić Bojović, Mitar Šušić, Goran Šćepanović, Andrija Babović, Vladislav Dajković, Stefan Vešović, Sanja Krkeljić, Mladen Jovanović, Zoran Lakušić, Goran Milić and Anika Bajić.

The List of Democrats - United - Demos has six mandates and the councilors are Danilo Šaranović, Danilo Jokić, Zdenka Popović, Branko Vuković, Aleksandar Božović and Milijana Kićović.

Members of the list of URA, CIVIS and Albanian alternative are Luka Rakčević, Milena Vuković Sekulović, Maja Vučelić and Esko Muratović.
