The outgoing mayor of Podgorica, Ivan Vuković, when asked how many new workers were employed in the capital from October to today and how responsible it is towards the citizens, said that it is maximally responsible if it is done according to the law and in accordance with the budget possibilities, but that he did not keep records how many people are employed.
Vuković told reporters after today's constitutive session of the capital's Assembly, where the mandates of 51 councilors were verified.
"In Podgorica today, we would have a hundred problems if we had not adopted the budget in December last year. The budget of the Capital City made it possible to announce a number of competitions... One concerns the seasonal employment of firefighters, it is a practice that has been going on since the Capital City was founded." Vukovic said.

He pointed out that a competition has been announced for the recruitment of 25 seasons of firefighters and an advertisement for the recruitment of people who will drive the new buses.
He said that he is leaving behind a system that is completely stable, best staffed, not only in Montenegro but also more widely and financially stable.
"The capital city has more than 17 million euros in its account today," Vuković added.
