The Bosniak Party (BS) announced today that they welcome the reaction of the prosecution and the police and the arrest of Miloš Ostojić, the president of the "Luka Bar" Audit Committee.
The party said that the criminal policy should show that hate speech has no place in civil and multi-ethnic Montenegro.
Ostojić (35) was arrested on suspicion of having committed the criminal offense of inciting national, racial and religious hatred.
He insulted Bosniaks on Facebook, called Islam a false religion, and "Luke Bar" announced his dismissal.
"We welcome the prompt reaction of the prosecutor's office and the police to the announcement and call of the Bosniak Party and the arrest of Miloš Ostojić for spreading hate speech and the suspicion that he committed the criminal offense of inciting national, racial and religious hatred, as we indicated in our announcement yesterday and the call to state authorities to respond . the great social danger of this criminal act and its consequences for inter-ethnic relations in Montenegro, and we call for the proactive approach of the prosecuting authorities and a strict criminal policy when it comes to these and similar criminal acts, to show that such phenomena will not occur in civil and multi-ethnic Montenegro to be tolerated, because they have no place in our society", emphasizes u BS announcement published on their website.
They added that they call on all institutions and the entire public of Montenegro to understand hate speech as a serious social problem that is collapsing the foundations of modern Montenegro as a multinational, multi-religious and civil state, which strives for European values and full democracy.
"On this occasion, we welcome the reaction of the management of Luka Bar and the initiative to dismiss Miloš Ostojic from the position of president and member of the audit committee of Luka Bar," concludes the BS announcement.
