Montenegrin President Milo Đukanović contributed to the sincere friendship between Slovakia and Montenegro, said Slovak Ambassador Boris Gandel.
As reported by the Information Service of the President of Montenegro, Gandel, during the conversation with Đukanović, pointed out that he was satisfied that Đukanović's official visit to Slovakia took place during his diplomatic mandate.
He, as stated, expressed hope for the continuation of the exemplary relations between the two countries on those foundations.
Đukanović personally and on behalf of Montenegro thanked Slovakia for its continued understanding of Montenegrin aspirations since the restoration of independence, membership in NATO, and the path to membership in the European Union.
"He pointed out that we successfully realized all those shares thanks to the support of our friends, especially Slovakia," the announcement states.
Đukanović also thanked Gandel for his extremely active involvement in Montenegro, initiatives that helped preserve the continuity of the friendship between the two countries and open horizons of new opportunities.
He said that in Montenegro, the processes on the political scene in Slovakia are being carefully followed.
According to reports, Đukanović and Gandel exchanged opinions on the political situation in the country and current developments in the region and the international community.
"They expressed mutual satisfaction with the upcoming opportunity to continue the dialogue on current topics during the upcoming security forum GLOBSEC in Bratislava, at the end of May, in which President Đukanović will participate as a special guest," the announcement states.
