The Center for Civic Education (CGO) announced today that the Agency for the Protection of Personal Data and Free Access to Information (AZLP) is encouraging political actors to commit illegalities by its inaction.
"More than two months have passed since initiatives were sent to AZLP, which requested the determination of the legality of collecting signatures of support for seven presidential candidates. Despite a series of subsequent urgencies, CGO has still not received any response from the Agency for the Protection of Personal Data and Free Access to Information ", the statement of the CGO points out.
The non-governmental organization (NGO) added that there are less than 2 days left until the deadline for submission of electoral lists and accompanying signatures of support for the parliamentary elections, while the public still does not even know whether the signatures for the previously held elections were collected in a legal manner. .
"By ignoring public suspicions about the existence of mass misuse of citizens' personal data, as well as by not acting on the initiatives sent, AZLP has made its institutional role meaningless, and thus encouraged political actors to act illegally and without any consequences," the statement of the CGE concludes.
