Ten days before the deadline for submission of lists for the parliamentary elections, the parties are still calculating which are the winning combinations to go before the citizens. The final decisions are expected next week, and for now it is certain that the Europe Now Movement (PES) will have the largest list, while the formerly numerous coalition, whose pillar was the Democratic Front (DF), will be reduced to a single digit number.
The DF list holder will most likely be Milan Knezevic, the leader of one of its members - the Democratic People's Party (DNP). According to "Vijesti" information, he was proposed for that position from the beginning, it just depended on whether he was willing to agree.
The DNP was an advocate of the "reduced" list of the DF, in order not to repeat that those who received mandates on the joint list, do not follow the coalition policy, which was the case in this convocation of the Assembly. The possibility that, in the event that Nova does not agree to it, Knežević's party will run alone in the elections was also considered.
For now, it is certain that in addition to the DNP, Nova and the Movement for Change, constituents of the DF, the Workers' Party will also be on the list with them.
DF participated in the 2020 parliamentary elections with eight other parties in the "For the Future of Montenegro" (ZBCG) coalition.
On the other hand, PES, which is participating in national elections for the first time, will most likely repeat the model of performance from the presidential elections, when civic local lists and some smaller parties supported Jakov Milatović. PES is talking, as it was said from several sources, with potential partners, and they will hand over the list to Cajnot, like most of the parties.
The deadline for submitting electoral lists expires on May 16 at midnight, and the elections are scheduled for June 11.
According to unofficial information, PES is negotiating with the Justice and Reconciliation Party (SPP), the Citizens' Alliance CIVIS and local papers - Novski List, Durmitor Initiative, Biram Bar, and United Montenegro (UCG).
President of SPP Seid Hadzic he told "Vijesti" that the negotiation teams of his party and PES "conducted consultations on time where expectations and approximate positions were conveyed".
"I think that in the next couple of days we should come out with information about the final agreement... I welcome the opinion that it should come out in one big European block made up of the parties of the center, the newly formed European forces along with the parties of less numerous nations that were the factors of change In 2020, the SPP will be a partner of promising European forces and will, as a matter of principle, stick to the side that achieved positive change against the former regime and their partners," said the leader of the SPP.
CIVIS is in the Government Dritan Abazović, and with GP URA they participated in the parliamentary elections in 2020, while UCG was on the list "For the future of Montenegro".
The main board of PES decided at the end of April that the president of the Movement Milojko Spajic be the holder of the list.
When it comes to the Socialist People's Party (SNP), which in the 2020 parliamentary elections was also in an alliance with the DF, it is now, according to unofficial information from "Vijesti", negotiating with the URA Civic Movement and Democratic Montenegro.
President of the SNP Vladimir Jokovic he told the MINA agency yesterday that they have not yet decided whether they will perform independently or in a coalition. "Vijesti" was previously told that the SNP also talked with the DF, and that they will make a decision depending on who offers them more mandates on the list.
Democrats and URA announced earlier that they will go to the elections together. Prime Minister and leader of the URA GP Dritan Abazović said yesterday that there are still a few things that need to be done regarding the electoral list. "I support that we have a large centrist bloc. In the previous elections, we were part of the 'Black on White' list, and this is now a continuation of that civic concept," he told reporters.
When it comes to opposition parties, the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) has not yet made a decision on the performance, nor did they, like most parties, answer the questions of "Vijesti". They have been running independently in elections for years (with the support of the Liberal Party), although this time too they are counting on a so-called sovereignist coalition - of which their traditional partners would be a part.
The two social democratic parties previously announced an independent exit. "The news was recently told by the SDP that they are "largely gathering signatures of support needed for an independent appearance", but that only their party bodies can say what the final decision will be.
Spokesman of the Liberal Party Ammar Borancic he said that the session of the LP Main Board is on May 9. He pointed out that the Presidency of the LP had earlier authorized the leadership to negotiate a joint performance with all programmatically related political parties that share liberal values.
"I believe that in this political moment there cannot be many surprises in that part when it comes to liberals. We focused more attention on innovating the offer to voters and refreshing our program and personnel policy," he said.
The Social Democratic Party (SDP) recently informed the newspaper that they have collected a large number of signatures of support necessary for an independent appearance", but that only their party bodies can say what the final decision will be.
The Preokret movement also announced the participation in the parliamentary elections, which tried its hand at local elections in two municipalities. One of the founders of the movement Srdjan Peric recently announced that their goal is to secure parliamentary status and that they have not thought about pre-election coalitions.
Next weekend's BS confirms that they will go alone, Forca is going with DP
The spokesperson of the Bosniak Party (BS), Adel Omeragić, told "Vijesta" that preparations are underway to schedule the sessions of the party bodies of the BS, where a decision will be made on the way to go to the elections, as well as the list of candidates for MPs. According to "Vijesti" information, the session should be held on May 13 or 14.
"We announced earlier that we are preparing for an independent performance, and we will confirm such a decision at our party bodies," Omeragić said.
The Force announced that the upcoming elections are very important for Albanian political parties, because only they can authentically represent the Albanian community.
"Forca and the Democratic Party, led by Fatmir Đeka, agreed on a pre-election coalition, where we jointly invited all other Albanian political entities to a meeting in order to reach an agreement on the formation of a single list that would authentically represent the Albanian people. With some of them, we are already in talks about a joint performance, and with others we expect to start them soon," stated Force.
