Minister of Labor and Social Welfare Admir Adrović, State Secretary in the Ministry of Defense Asmir Pepić, who are officials of the Bosniak Party (BS), as well as their party colleague Enes Husović, participated in a rally in support of the party of the current Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan organized before the elections in Turkey on Sunday, May 14.
The pre-election rally of the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) was held on May 7 at Ataturk Airport in Istanbul.
The rally, which was attended by more than 1,7 million people, as reported by the agencies, was organized ahead of the parliamentary and presidential elections on May 14.
In the presidential elections, the candidates are Erdogan, Kemal Kilicdaroglu as a representative of the opposition bloc of six parties and Sinan Ogan.
As reported by the agencies, the opposition candidate Kemal Kilicdaroglu is slightly ahead of the current president Erdogan in the polls.
Polling stations will also be open outside Turkey, in 75 states and 156 representative offices of this country. More than 3,41 million citizens are registered to vote from abroad, writes Al Jazeera.
The portal RTV Rožaje announced that Adrović, Pepić and Husović were at the rally. Husović is the son of the late leader and founder of BS Rafet Husović, who had great support and respect with Erdogan.
The Ministry of Defense told "Vijesta" that Pepić did not represent the government at the meeting of the ruling Turkish party.
"Mr. Pepić did not stay in Turkey in the capacity of State Secretary of the Ministry of Defense", said the Ministry, answering questions about whether Pepić participated in the meeting as a representative of the Government or the Bosniak Party, at whose invitation and what does it have to do with Montenegro.
The Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare did not respond to "Vijesti" questions addressed to Adrović.
"Vijesti" also asked at whose expense Adrović stayed in Turkey and whether Prime Minister Dritan Abazović was informed about his participation in Erdogan's campaign, if he represented the government.
The Bosniak Party did not answer those questions, as well as whether the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Capital Investments Ervin Ibrahimović traveled to Turkey yesterday at the invitation of Erdogan, what is the reason for the visit and whether Ibrahimović supports Erdogan in the campaign.
Erdogan began his political career in Istanbul, where he served as mayor in the early 1990s before becoming prime minister and president. However, in 2019 his party lost to the opposition in Istanbul and the capital Ankara, ending the 25-year rule of Erdogan and his predecessors in those two major cities.
