Democratic Front (DF) made a decision that the constituent parties go on different paths towards the same goal - Montenegro is a reconciled country, said one of the leaders of the DF Andrija Mandic.

"Today, as friends, the three of us want to send a new message to Montenegro that in politics you can meet together, but also separate and go separately towards the same goal," said Mandić at the press conference.

The press conference is attended by Nebojsa Medojevic (Movement for change) i Milan Knezevic (Democratic People's Party).

He said that "there are no conflicts, no quarrels, no differences on the issues that they agreed upon when they founded the DF".

"I am proud of everything we have done and we can do more," Mandic added.

He said that for some time there have been discussions in the DF on how to continue the political struggle. "We made the decision to continue this political struggle individually after the overthrow of Milo Đukanović's regime in 2020 and him personally in the 2023 elections...Today we do not have the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) in power, but we have all the deviations that existed and that he installed DPS at decision-making points," said Mandić.

Medojević: We are entering a new era, we need to build new bridges

Medojević said that DPS "had a plan to keep the competition in the national fold".

"After 2008, when the differences were greatest, we found the strength to sit down together and work towards a common goal - Serbian-Montenegrin reconciliation. When you look at the DF mission, it has been accomplished - Serbs and Montenegrins are reconciled and see Montenegro as their home in to which everyone has all the rights," Medojević said.

He pointed out that 90 percent of their policies demanded a sacrifice and that this political alliance made great sacrifices.

Medojević thanked all DF members who did not wait for liberation and reconciliation.

"We are entering a new era, we need to build new bridges. There were no quarrels and inaccuracies, we assessed that in this balance of power we cannot give an optimal result".

He stated that there are differences between them regarding priorities in politics and that they have estimated that it is better for everyone to use their potential on the political market. He said that all their coalitions at the local level remain in the same relations. "And we remain on friendly terms. "We simply assessed that, instead of internal discussions and wasting time, it is better to devote ourselves to creating an offer for our voters and achieve the best possible result in the elections," said Medojević.

He said that, after the 2020 elections, structures that "did not want changes and reforms" eliminated DF from the Government. “Now we are paying that price. Apart from the fall of Đukanović and the DPS, no changes have taken place. The regime remained intact. That made us decide to make this decision", stated Medojević.

He reiterated that the Movement for Change (PzP) will run independently in the elections and will have a reform program, the platform "Reform to save the country", whose focus will be on dismantling the regime, reforms and enabling a better life for the citizens of Montenegro.

Knežević: There were no conflicts, no bad words, nor will there be

Knežević stated that when the DF started its "great historical journey" 11 years ago, it set a goal - a merciless fight against Milo Đukanović and the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) and his assets.

"The regime was defeated with great sacrifices, but the anonymous people we brought in and appointed as prime minister, ministers, honorable exceptions, aimed more at settling accounts with the DF than democratizing Montenegro. Even today, three years after the change of government, we have a legacy of that regime. After the presidential elections, the last blow was given to Đukanović, to which the DF made an immeasurable contribution. I want to deny all media spins that there was a conflict between us and names on the list of deputies, because we did not even come to that," said Knežević.

He added that "there were no conflicts, no bad words, nor will there be".

"We will not answer questions today and that we will inform the public about the exit modalities of NSD and DNP in a timely manner. This is our last address on behalf of DF and the last address on this topic".
