The President of the Workers' Party (RP), Maksim Vučinić, today called on the newly elected President of Montenegro, Jakov Milatović, to sign the law amending the Law on Pension and Disability Insurance (PIO).
"The amendment to the law on pension insurance, adopted by the 27th convocation of the Assembly on April 19, enables more favorable retirements for workers from the mining and metallurgical complex who lost their jobs due to the "suspension of production caused by the shutdown or closure of production capacities due to economic and technological problems in business "However, it was adopted after the outgoing president (Milo Đukanović) issued a decree on the dissolution of the Assembly, which is why he did not sign the amendment to this law as well as the others adopted during that period," Vučinić pointed out in the announcement.
He added that after the shutdown of the remaining 12 cells in the Electrolysis plant at the Podgorica Aluminum Plant (KAP), the workers are very worried, because as Vučinić says, the eventual avoidance of signing the law by the newly elected president would leave most of them without existence until the vote in the new convocation.
"Which could theoretically wait for the regular autumn session," concluded Vučinić.
