"I believe that the inauguration of Jakov Milatović will be an announcement of the stabilization of political conditions, which will follow the elections", said the leader of the Democrats Aleksa Bečić today.
He said this to journalists after Milatović took the oath and took office as the president of the country.
Milatović took the oath in the Assembly of Montenegro, in Podgorica. The ceremony was attended by numerous high-ranking officials from the country, the region and the world, heads of state institutions, members of the diplomatic corps, former officials...
"It is good that we are all focused on the future, not the past, and let this be an announcement of the stabilization of relations between officials in the Western Balkans," said Becic, adding that he was glad that the leaders of the countries of the region were at the inauguration.
He stated that it is necessary for Milatović to confirm with actions "what he announced today with words".
"I'm sure he will be on that path," Bečić said.
Speaking about the upcoming parliamentary elections, in which the Democrats will participate in a coalition with the URA Civic Movement, he said that he expects a "respectable result" and that their alliance will be a "pillar of the future government".
"The political center can achieve a convincing victory, and we can get a stable government and a parliamentary majority," concluded Bečić.
