The Social Democratic Party (SDP) held a press conference today, where they announced that one of the priorities of the "SDP - For Our House" list is to provide free kindergarten for all children in Montenegro, 24 thousand of them.
"We are witnessing the high rate of inflation in Montenegro and the price increases that the citizens of Montenegro were exposed to in the previous period. That is why we are here today to discuss a topic that is of great importance to a large number of families. That is why we want to show in the right way how "Our list 'SDP - For our house' will take care of making our house Montenegro a comfortable place for all its citizens," said SDP candidate for MP Amina Cikotić.
She pointed out that there is constant talk of concern about young people leaving, but nothing concrete is being done about it.
"A roof over our heads, a good workplace and good conditions for our children to grow up are key. It's time that all children have the right to kindergarten, regardless of their parents' financial capabilities. Children and young families must and should be a priority for all of us," she said. is she.
SDP list holder Nikola Đurašković said that the party's program aims to ensure that all children of pre-school age in Montenegro get the right to free kindergarten.
"According to our calculations, that figure is something around 24.000 in a period of nine months during the year when preschool institutions have the largest number of users and the required amount on an annual level is some 11 million euros. The calculation was made on the price of kindergartens of 40 euros, see these days, there are announcements from the relevant ministry that the price can go up to 50 euros, and that increase would mean some two million euros more," said Đurašković, as reported by the SDP.
"The state that will be governed by the SDP after the parliamentary elections on June 11 and the government in which the SDP will participate after June 11 will provide all the children of Montenegro with the right to free kindergarten. If from the 2,2 billion euros, which is the state budget this year, we cannot provide 11-13 million euros for our children, then we should ask ourselves how our country is managed," he added.
The calculation of 24.000 children, he explained, includes all children of preschool age at the level of calculations from the previous year, including children in private preschool institutions, and the subsidy for the use of private kindergartens would be at the price level of state preschool institutions.
"The issue of space and personnel capacity is rightfully open even after we announced the program 'Kindergarten for all' in Cetinje, but this should be an additional motive and impulse for the future Government of Montenegro to work intensively on the construction of new kindergartens and the creation of both investment and spatial - planning assumptions for such a thing. Specifically, in Cetinje, we are going to design a new kindergarten and we will create in a relatively short period of time additional spatial capacities for the accommodation of an expected larger number of children in the coming period," concluded Đurašković.
