The President of Montenegro, Jakov Milatović, announced that he congratulated the President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, on his new mandate in the hope that both of them would work diligently to further strengthen friendly relations and improve cooperation in all fields, with a special emphasis on strengthening the economic ties between Montenegro and Turkey.
Milatović wrote it on his Twitter account.
He said earlier that he attended the inauguration of Erdogan in Ankara with pleasure.
"Turkey is our important ally within NATO and an important economic partner. We continue to improve mutual relations and alliance with great dedication and commitment," Milatović wrote on Twitter.
He also stated that it was "a great pleasure to meet His Holiness, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew".
Erdogan, who has been in power for 20 years, was sworn in today and began his third term as president of Turkey.
